Lotsa Events

So busy with so many events lately.

No time to update sia.

Just back from Huimin's Adele's one year old birthday party at a chalet at Changi. Wow they really make so much effort to do such things for their kids these days. Wonder what I'll do next time lol.

21st May 2011, Saturday

Took a cab down to Wee Khiang and Peh Yee's wedding lunch at Crowne Plaza. 2nd time I'm there for a wedding function. This time I was there for the solemnization event and then had a quick lunch before rushing off to another solemnization event. Phew...

Cabbed down to One Rochester at Buona Vista. Wacauz cost about $25 sia cos of airport surcharge. Aaron and Annie's solemnization event was held there. Quite a beautiful event with nice decoration around the place.

Pix are here.

iMac-ed!

FINALLY! After hesitating for several months, I got my hands on a new toy from Apple! It's a 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 iMac! Got it from Challenger at Tampines One. Might as well, since they have 30% on AppleCare, and can get points for Challenger membership. And it's 24 months 0% interest installment plan. Totally awesome deal! Now my desk have this PC and an iMac just next to each other and my Starcraft II mousepad is home to my PowerLogic GMX-3 mouse and the Apple Magic Mouse hehehe.

PC: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 @ 2.66GHz (Wolfdale 45nm architecture)
CPU Benchmark: 1943

iMac: Intel Core i5-2400S @ 2.50GHz (Sandy Bridge 32nm architecture)
CPU Benchmark: 5137

See the big jump in processing power from my current PC to my new iMac!

It's Voting Day!

Went to the Workers' Party with Alex after work yesterday. Almost didn't wanna go. But then felt like it's once in a 5-years' time thingy. And WP's influence on Singaporeans is so strong now that we die die must go and join in the last rally for this GE. We took the NEL to Serangoon and even dabao-ed KFC to eat along the way to the stadium. It is said that there were around 30,000 people who attended the rally at Serangoon Stadium. When can you ever find such a humongous congregation of people except during NDP or IT shows?

We stood there from 9pm all the way to 10:30pm, with Mr Low Thia Kiang ending the rally. It almost felt like everyone was united, shouting "Workers' Party" repeatedly. Even little kids were shouting too lol.

Wait till I upload some pix and videos of the rally. Stay tuned!

My First Ever Rally & Labour Day in BNS

Never would I have thought I would go for a General Election rally. Been reading up a lot about the latest developments of the GE thanks to Facebook. Almost every post is related to the GE. Plenty of parodies and articles all help to make everyone, especially those of vote-able age, to notice the various problems we as Singaporeans are facing. More and more people are concerned politics in Singapore.

Went to the one at Kallang for the Kallang-Moulmein constituency. Momo and I reached the place at around 8pm and still plenty of people were walking towards the large open field, where probably thousands had already congregated to listen to the Workers' Party's rallies. We listened until 9pm before we decided to go for dinner. Luckily the weather was pretty good, otherwise we wouldn't even have lasted more than 15 mins perhaps lol. Looking forward to the NSP rally Tampines Stadium on Wednesday. That one die die must go since it's for Tampines GRC.

Earlier in the day, Momo and I went to watch Thor! Have never missed a Marvel movie, except for Iron Man. Watched all Spiderman, Iron Man 2 and now this movie. The plot is pretty simple. Lotsa awesome graphics in an alternate as well as present universe. Natalie Portman is rather redundant in this movie. Could jolly well cast any female actress, since she didn't really make too much of an impact on the plot. Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth looks stunning, meaning his abs and biceps and all the other muscles perfectly chiseled. Certainly god-like for the female audience. Watchable movie. 3.5 stars. I won't give 4 or 4.5 since it's really a simple plot with just plenty of computer graphics.

30th April 2011, Saturday

Went back to office to work at around 4pm! Boliao sia. Even had to dabao dinner from Lau Pa Sat before leaving office at around 9pm+. All these because it's a quarter-end.

1st May 2011, Sunday

Labour Day so what? Had to go back to office to do labour anyway. But then it's good cos we get to get paid. Not too bad a deal hehehe. Went back at 11am until around 4:30pm. Woah now that I counted, I worked for around 10 hours for these two days. Hmm...
