Cousin Junfei Gets Married!

My cousin, Junfei, who is two years younger than me has gotten married! He and his wife, Tracy/Xinru, really got 夫妻相. On Friday, my whole family went to 三姨's house in the morning for the tea ceremony. In the end the bride and groom and the brothers and sisters only arrived at aroun 1pm. So it's the usual tea ceremony, then we went back home to rest. At night we went down to Orchard Parade Hotel for the wedding dinner.
After the dinner, I went to the Singapore Art Museum where Night Festival is being held. There were plenty of people, as expected. Went to meet up with Aar, Eil, Joy, Joc, Jus, Ros and Ser, who were there much earlier to take pix of that event. When I reach, they were pretty much finished, so in the end we went to Starbucks at Raffles City to chill instead. Didn't really see much of the Night Festival. Luckily I see many pix that Sin Shoo took and shared on FB, so didn't really miss much ahhaha.

17th July 2010, Saturday

Met up with the FDS guys, Liyang and wife, Kim Mong and gf, Boon Leong and gf, Elvin, Zhangjing and Jeremy. We took the Singapore-Johor Express at Queen Street. First time taking this, and I must say it's really faster than taking 170 at Kranji. $2.40 per ride, brings you all the way to the Woodlands Checkpoint without stopping. And there weren't many passengers waiting at the checkpoint bus-stop some more. Realizing that my passport was gonna expire in less than one month's time, I tried my luck to enter the Malaysian customs. Alas the officer noticed the date and directed me back to Singapore. T_T In the end Ah Tham accompanied me back to Singapore. We bought some chewing gum at the convenience store before taking 170 back to Singapore. Ah Tham said he was half-hearted in the first place and din mind going back with me. LOL silly Tham. And silly Lam. We then took almost two hours of bus-ride to reach Queen Street. Goodness! That's a wrong move. Then we had lunch at the Bugis hawker centre, before roaming around in Sim Lim. We then pre-ordered our Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty set @ $99! It's gonna be released worldwide on the 27th of July, 2010. We can go down to Funan to collect our set, which will be release at 12 noon. Hope Tham can go down there to collect our set, plus T-shirt and dog-tag. Only limited to the first 1337 omg! Can't wait to get my hands on the game! Woohoo!

15th July 2010, Thursday

We went to watch Despicable Me! Joc watch for the 2nd time some more! The first time she watch in 3D, so she din mind watching again with us, in 2D. It is a really entertaining, crappy but hilarious animated film. I'll certainly watch it again, but not in the theatres lah hehe. 4.5 stars!

Counting Down to the Final Moment!

It's almost 3 hours to the finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Woohoo can't wait. Let's hope what Paul had predicted will come true - Spain lifting the World Cup trophy for the first time in their history. There are many Holland supporters but surely Spain has more due to more Barcelona and Real Madrid fans around. May the best team win! (And hopefully win me some $ to recoup my losses for this WC hahaha!)

10th July 2010, Saturday

Went to Erwin's place to see Sharon and Giselle. It's Giselle's one month old celebration so we MKGians went over to visit them. Giselle was lying on its stomach on the bed, sleeping soundly. Then Huimin also brought Adele over, then the baby room had two babies sleeping haha.
Sleeping also can get angpow!Adele also sleeping.
Took this to show the double chin haha!

After that I met up with Li Teng and his gf at Marina Square. Supposedly to have his other friends but they last min all din make it. So the three of us headed over to the Nicoll Highway bridge beside Esplanade and found a nice spot to set up our tripods. There were plenty of people with DSLRs and tripods, all waiting for that few minutes of splendor.
The very first shot for the night. No smoke yet.
Supposed to see a moon and 5 stars. Exposed for too long.
Very hairy fireworks.

After that I went to look for Tat Yeong and his friends, who were there much earlier to take pictures around the area. We went to Suntec for dinner before going home.

1 More Week to Post-World-Cup-Boredom-Syndrome

Wonder what I'll do after the new World Cup champions are crowned within less than a week. Will be freaking bored cos will be deprived of soccer matches until the new season of Premier League begins. Maybe I'm gonna get a new Germany World Cup jersey, with 4 stars on it of course! Hehehehe! Let's hope Paul the Octopus gives an accurate prediction of Germany winning Spain, and then to win at the finals!

2nd July 2010, Friday

After work, went to Ding Tai Fung (again!) just two days after we went! Jocelyn and Joycelyn wanted to try out those dishes that we didn't on Wednesday, therefore they decided to go again. They got another friend to join us, and together we ordered the 小菜, as well as some shrimp dumplings, chili crab xiaolongbao, normal xiaolongbao etc. Eat until wanna puke hahaha. After dinner Jocelyn wanna walk home instead of taking bus, and since we eat until so full, we then walk all the way back. We went to check out the Tampines Central CC, and I found Changyuan sitting there, waiting for Kong to join him. Bo jio! Then I took bus 69 to Bedok to meet Aaron while Joce continued walking around the neighbourhood -_-....
I then went to the Happy Days pub just above the MacDonald's at Bedok interchange. Aaron and I decided to go there and he jioed Kathy along. We got ourselves a bottle of Chivas @ $98 nett. Not too bad. Saw Huang Shinan there lol. There were plenty of uncles at the pub, all waiting for the Brazil vs Holland match to start. I staked about $70 for the night's matches, which all went up in smoke at the end. Thanks to a stupid own goal and sending off of Felipe Melo. Now that's a very stupid way of getting famous. Brazil left the field with a 1-0 lead after the first half, but thanks to the above-mentioned moron, Holland managed to come back and even won the game. Wesley Sneijder was blessed with good luck and was at the right position at the right time to score from a header. Even the earlier free-kick goal which resulted in Melo last-touching the ball and into the net, was credited to Sneijder. Holland is really damn lucky. But I'm sure even after winning Uruguay in the semi-finals (if they can), they'll be totally destroyed by Germany or Spain (should be Germany). Lol!

3rd July 2010, Saturday

Met up with Li Teng and his gf Meiqi (he still don't wanna publicly admit -_-) and Claire at Ion. We tried 4 Fingers Bonchon for the first time! Nice! The chicken skin is very crispy and the spicy chicken sauce makes it soooo delicious. Definitely can go there again.
We then went to check out the Youth Festival and Mascot Parade at the *Shine Mall just behind Orchard Cineleisure. Didn't know of this new mall until now. The maid cafe Moe Moe Kyun is finally open in Singapore and right at that mall itself! Saw MYnT as well as other maids doing some recording outside the cafe. Miyake-chan looks cuter everytime I see her lol. There were plenty of mascots parading around the place. Even Merly and Lyo, the Youth Olympics Games mascots were there. The Muttons were the MCs for this event. It was drizzling throughout the event and I was kinda sick, therefore didn't feel like shooting much. The picture below is one of the only few pix I took lol. Nicholas was there helping out as a photographer for his friends' booth. We also got some free iPhone cases and fans from the Animax booth. Nice cases sia.
We then hung around until 7pm then I went back home to get ready to meet up with Hongming and gf, as well as Boon Leong, who also brought his gf along, at the Tampines Central CC. HM reached at 9pm but all seats were already taken. By the time I reach at 9:05pm, I could stand at the edges. So I ended up having dinner at the food court and then slowly took my time to find a good standing spot at the second floor. There were some technical difficulties and they finally managed to get the screens showing the match after the game had started for like 8 mins or so. We missed Thomas Mueller's 3rd minute header goal! But nvm, there was more for German fans to cheer about in the second half. They totally thrashed Argentina 4-0 at FT! Magnificent performance by this very young German team. I was so lucky to get the 1st scorer bet right hahaha! But my other bets had no luck. BL and gf and I then walked all the way back to the kopitiam below my place where we had some supper. I then watched the Paraguay vs Spain match at 2:30am. Spain were lucky enough to win by a solitary goal. Let's hope the Germans can keep up their standard and continue thrashing Spain in the semis. Although I had long ago bought the bet of Spain winning the WC, but I would love to see the Germans as champions now instead. They're really damn good.
4th July 2010, Sunday

Not going for Jap lessons anymore >_<... Firstly cos Jiahao decided to stop going, secondly very tired from watching soccer for the past few weeks, thirdly, there's a kanji test and have to submit a report (essay)! Doesn't seem like I can do anything about it, therefore decided not to go for lessons anymore. Oh fourthly there's Cosfest at Downtown East! NZ and I then met up to go there together. Wow it's jam-packed with youngsters dressed up as all kinds of anime and movie characters. Damn awesome. The whole place was so vibrant and colourful and full of energy. I quickly went into semi-automatic mode and fired off at will. Shot for almost 3 hours before I called it a day and had to rush home to change and then leave again to attend Lishi's wedding at Sentosa.
These boys surely haven't gone through NS before hahaha.
This Sasori damn cool, don't you think so?
First time see people cosplay Nami, Nico Robin, Vivi and Ms. Valentine of One Piece
This girl very cute. Anyone knows from which anime?
