Can You Believe It? Another Year Has Passed

It's the year 2011 in less than 24 hours! How fast time flies... Realize that I always use this sentence. I'll be turning 30 in less than 6 months! Holy shit!

It's been a great year for all of us. Economy is picking up, got almost everything I wanted, but of course things could be much better.

Let's look forward to a better and prosperous new year!

Post Christmas Updates

Hohoho 'tis the season to be jolly! Mummy decided to hold a Christmas party at our house again and therefore we prepared loads of goodies as usual. Will upload pix soon.

24th December 2010, Friday

It's Christmas Eve! Went to meet up with Liyang and Selina, Zhangjing and Bobo at a place called Brussels Sprouts located at Robertson Quay. They serve some interesting Western dishes, but are quite expensive. Some of the mains come with free-flow of chips, cool! And it's been ages since I met up with Bobo. He's changed job too. We enjoyed the food and the choir caroling Christmas songs just right behind our table. Pretty awesome experience, but too bad the other FDS guys couldn't join us. Let's pray for a bigger group to attend in our next gathering.

Pictures to be up pretty soon =P

Some Outdated Updates

Haha I actually forgot to post about my ascent to the highest building in Singapore during the Swissotel Vertical Marathon on the 21st of November 2010! So here it is again.

21st November 2010, Sunday

So I finally entered this challenge. Always wanted to participate in a vertical marathon but couldn't find the kakis to do it. The previous years Hongming went but bojio! Finally this year he remembered to jio me and therefore we went together. This year there's only the two of us. Previously he participated with one or two friends. Chian San also participated in it, as I realized after I already registered for the event.

HM and I met then went to Swissotel The Stamford to get ready for our climb. CS was at an earlier category and he started first. He was wearing something unusual for such an event and caught the eyes of the organizers. They invited him on stage to interview him as to why he wore such an outfit. He said he decided to wear something different since this is a fun event, or something along that line. There was a another man in the 50+ category dressed in full Venom costume.

I clocked 15:50 for my climb. HM clicked 14:50, exactly 1 min faster than me lol. Eh but I was interrupted by CS while on the 6th and 60th floors cos he called me! Slowed down my pace hahah. Shall attempt to break my personal record next year, if I'm participating again hehe. Well the registration fee of $40 is quite steep actually. HM says the fee is increasing every year. The goodie bag and the shirt aren't really worth $40. So probably will reconsider participating next year hahaha.

9th December 2010, Thursday

Ok not quite an event but it's something interesting. It's cardinal day at SAFRA! Looked forward to it since the starting of ICT. We get to enjoy good food and play some games of bowling or pool or LAN-gaming this time (choose one only). Of course I opted for bowling. Managed to play up to 5 games hahaha! That's because most of the guys left after playing one game. I live so near so what's the hurry of going home when there're free bowling games to play? In the end Sam and I were the only survivors playing up to 5 games each haha. Then Kenneth and I went to Blic to have some ice-cream before we went back and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon off.
Hehe my scores were 123, 147, 147, 129, 153.

Reservist shiok right? But nobody sees the kinda siong things we do inside T_T... This year we did a 2D1N FIBUA at Neo Tiew Village. After reaching the place then I realized that it's the very same place that I went during my year two FOC in Hall 4. It was a place for nightwalk. It's actually open to the public! Quite a fun overnight stay actually. We did FIBUA and watched some of our guys play with trip flare and handheld rockets (it's handheld flares actually). We saw all the 10+ flares being shot into the sky on a rainy night, all lighting up the sky and floating down like being on parachutes (I think they really are on parachutes). Too bad I couldn't take pix or videos lol. Then the next morning we had a company level FIBUA movement. That was damn siong but rather fun.
The next 2D1N exercise was in base. Shall not disclose too much info lol. This not as siong as FIBUA physically but we hardly got any sleep throughout the night. Zombified the next morning...

Friday 10th December we outpro-ed. Kinda sianz cos had to go back to work in three days' time already. Kinda glad that the siong part was over. Indeed reservist was a good break from work and a good catching with all the good old buddies of FDS-PLAB.

ICT Commences

Sianz... the annual ICT has started. Ok lah first day always very slack. Doing all the admin stuff, going to e-mart to get our barang barang, then go back to the new Buiding 303, which we saw it being built when we went back last year, for lectures and other boliao stuff.

Tired man... woke up at 7am. Gonna have to wake up even earlier later, at 5:30am! ZZzz... Oyasuminasai~~

AFA Weekend!

It's the long awaited AFA X! Anime Festival Asia 2010!

Ok I'm lazy to edit and upload so many wonderful pix from Anime Festival Asia 2010. Shall upload my favourites.

Please see the full album here on FB.
Li Teng and I bought the Festival + Stage access tickets which cost $15. Actually quite wasted. The stage access area is worth it if you go early in the morning to watch the free movie screenings. Later will be all the interviews and artiste appearances. Luckily we managed to catch Milky Holmes voice actors doing their dance routines on the stage. The rest of the festival area were the usual booths. They added a new butler cafe in addition to the existing maid cafe. There were cars with all the AFA designs, as well as new games featuring the Vocaloids. Freaking cool AFA. Can't wait for next year's and next next year's and next next next year's...

Zoo & Halloween Horrors & Chester's ROM

Finally got my pc back up after a long hiatus. Crapz... my motherboard decided to R.I.P. It's only 2 years and 8 months old! SighzZzz...

And of course, I was sick for like more than one week or so. Therefore didn't have the energy or will to post any updates. Sorry to all my faithful readers out there. Will update once I'm done with AFA this weekend. Gonna have plenty of updates. OH EM GEE!

And so I'm back to update. Here goes...

30th October 2010, Saturday

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.
How about you, you you.
You can come too, too, too.
We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.

It's been more than a decade since I last stepped into the Singapore Zoo. And of all times, it started pouring when Momo and I reached the entrance. Craps! Then after discussing with Liyang and Selina, we decided to get the 2-in-1 ticket for Zoo + Night Safari for $32, which we will top up with an additional $28 for the Halloween Horrors event. Too bad Auntie Annie's zoo card cannot be used. -_-... Well it cost $50 for the Halloween Horrors event anyway so $60 ain't a big difference since we get to go to the zoo.
Spent the whole afternoon walking all around the zoo. It's like back in the primary school excursion days, except that I remember nothing about it at all haha.

We met up with L&S to go for the HH together. Wow there were huge crowds outside NS already. We went around taking pix of the ghouls and ghosts at the entrance of NS. Awesome! They really put effort into making themselves look as real as possible.
All rides start at 7pm and we can only choose to queue up for one first, therefore we decided to go queue for the Train of Terror ride first. Not scary at all sia. The tram MC was dressed in a long white dress and spoke in a deep supposedly scary voice. And throughout the trip, most of the "ghosts" appeared from the left side, whereas there weren't much to amuse me since I'm seated on the right side of the tram. BORING!

After that we went for the Trail of the Undead. It's basically a normal walking trail around NS, but they added Halloween elements and "ghosts" to scare the shit out of us. Quite a few of the "ghosts" were hidden amongst the leaves and trees and would just jump out of nowhere accompanied with shouts or screams.
Next up we went to queue for the Creatures of the Night show, also with a Halloween twist. What a disappointment. Boring like hell. The final piece of music and the guy doing boliao moves to the tune of The Undertaker's theme was a total waste of time. By that time we had no more time to enter the Haunted Village at the Zoo anymore because the staff told us we had to queue for 2 hours and 45 mins! SIAO!!! What a total waste of our money. Sianz loh, so we left the Zoo missing out on the scariest venue. Sighzz...

We then decided to go for our very late dinner at 11+pm! Hungry like mad. Luckily we didn't queue. L&S brought us to this restaurant called Silvery Moon, at the Fisherman's Village area at Pasir Ris. The whole place was also decorated with Halloween stuff, but there was no real celebration there. Momo and I tried the sausage platter. Quite nice. And the sausages went very well with the special curry sauce. What a way to finish a Halloween night, with a sumptious meal. Awesome!

3rd November 2010, Wednesday

Aaron's parents were gone for a holiday in Japan and thus we could drive to work. So we planned to go to With A Pinch of Salt at Tanjong Katong area sort of as a small birthday celebration for Kiwi. A very nice place. Set meal only $6.90 if I remember correctly. Nice place to hold a birthday celebration too.

7th November 2010, Sunday

It was my roommie's ROM at Park Hotel Clarke Quay. Only Don, Charles, Zhongming and me from Blk 22 were invited. The rest were his other older frenz. He got a total of 40 people for this afternoon ROM event to witness the day he and Jessie were announced man and wife. Kirakun is married! Congrats to him!

Mummy!!! It's Over!!!

Walau what have I been doing for the past 9 days? I wonder if I should have taken 5 days leave in a row in the first place. Oh well... take it as a much needed break to recharge my batteries for the remaining 2 months of 2010, cos there are plenty of things happening which requires plenty of energy i.e. more wedding dinners/ROMs, reservist, AFA, TGCC, Christmas and NYE!

22nd October 2010, Friday

Was cleaning up the remaining left side of my room, i.e. my computer table and the 3 drawers, as well as the shelf above my pc. Now half of my room is spanking clean and neat. The other half are the display cabinets, TV and other cabinets. Will be another round of headache when I'm clearing that area O_o...

Went to meet up with the kiddos and Aaron and gf for some card games at TCC @ Bugis Junction. It's Friday night and therefore they decided to come out for this thingy. Since I'm so free for the whole week, decided to join them for Monopoly Deal there. Played from 9 plus to 12+. In the end we had to take cab home again lol.

23rd October 2010, Saturday

As planned, Selina and Liyang picked me and Momo up to have dinner at The Garden Slug. Wow... I've been to this restaurant several times within 3 months lol. This time we had to sit outside since the whole of the indoor tables were booked for some event I think. Saw the plenty of cats and parrots around the area. The parrots at the petshop at the end of the block kept saying words like "happy birthday", "hello" etc. There is a resident cat seen sleeping at the bench at the front door of The Garden Slug. Lazy kitty.
Resident cat. Resident evil.
First time had to sit outside.
Big and juicy portobello mushrooms! Each one as big as my fist!
Tried this bolognese. Quite ok.
Momo got this dory fish. The fish and mashed potato goes very well with the tartar sauce.
Selina ordered this "baby food"
And Liyang got himself an MMM - Mouthwatering Meatball Melts. The meatball is heavenly!

Ate until wanna puke again. Their portions are really out-of-portions! I'll definitely pay half price to get half of the portions instead!

Then Selina drove us all the way to the Night Safari to the highly anticipated Halloween Horrors event. Wacauz the queue of cars along the road leading to the entrance of NS was so long, and we were asked to park our cars along the road as there weren't enough carparks. Had to walk a long way in. Coupled with the fact that the weather forecast shows thunderstorms throughout the night, we decided to go to the NS on the 30th instead. CrapZZz... Oh well, 30th October DIE DIE MUST GO!

Spring Cleaning 2010

Wacauz I see the amount of rubbish/treasure in my drawers can cry.
Now still at the first two drawers only.

Threw away lots of stuff found in my drawers:
- Transistors, LEDs from SC30X (those to be placed on circuit boards)

- Dragonball cards
- Various expired cards
- Lottery tickets (those that I share with MKG or other groups)
- A watch (forgot who gave it to me, doesn't really matter now lol)
- Spectacles + case
- Matchboxes
- Angpows (with no $ inside of cos!)
- Empty (and non-empty) medicine bottles
- A packet of 4 pens (I remember this! They cost $2 each...for charity back in TOTs in NTU)
- Shit I found another packet!
- A stick of cream (no idea what it contains)
- PDL x 2 (2 slips of papers for Provisional Driving License dated 2003)
- Bus tickets
- Final Fantasy VIII cards (extras)
- Leftover stickers from Megaman figurines (the remnants from peeling off the used stickers)
- Fifa World Cup 2010 Stickers (extras)
- Summon Ticket ($30! WTF!)
- My whole set of ST Electronics namecards

Found and still keeping:
- Receipt for my Specialized Hard Rock mountain bike. $657. Always forgot how much it cost lol.
- Ayumi Hamasaki armbands (went to wash them)
- Plenty of other miscellaneous things

Ok now all 3 drawers are empty. The next thing is to put them all back into an organized manner. Faint...

Long Overdue Post

Once again, laziness (+ busyness) prevented me from updating my blog eheheh. So here goes:

9th October 2010, Saturday

So we went for our JB trip as planned. First time going to JB with the kiddos. And best of all, it is the first time Joy actually stepped into JB. Have to make sure she's taken care of like a little girl (well...she is...ahhaha). We went to get our tickets for two movies: "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen" and "Eat, Pray, Love". Think must be the first time I watched two movies on the same day at JB. We then had lunch at Nando's, my first time trying food from this supposedly very famous restaurant, as can be seen from the long queues outside its outlet at Bugis Junction. Not too bad, but not to the point of having to queue like mad for it.
2 movies in a row.
Sides are pretty good.
The chicken is quite nice too.
Momo is HOT! Joy is MILD.

Then we went to watch Chen Zhen. Momo and Kiwi and me had already watched the show previously but since Momo wanted to watch again in Canto, we went ahead to watch it lol. WE MISSED THE OPENING AGAIN! WTH... Think we were one or two minutes late. Watching the show again within one week didn't really bore us, or at least to me. I like Donnie Yen movies, for all the action and fighting scenes. But they actually cut off a few scenes from the movie, making it shorter by roughly 15 minutes or so. DiaoOOoo... But still, worth to watch for a second time.

After that, we went shopping for our stuff. I went to shop for my own clothes alone while the three of them went to grab their girls' stuff. I managed to spend up to RM200+ for the first time on my trip to JB lol. Haven't been shopping for clothes since dunno when. Then we met up again to watch Eat, Pray, Love. Quite a nice movie. 3.5 stars.

Next we took a cab to Taman Sri Tebrau Hawker Centre, which was in my usual JB itinerary. First time the kiddos were there, so I brought them to this place I frequented. Ordered quite a bit of food including crayfish, veggies, beggar chicken, salad youtiao, pepper crabs. End up only Momo and me were finishing up the crabs. Yumz I love crabs. Especially pepper crabs. Crayfish was awesome too. Spent about RM30+ per person. We then took a cab back to City Square before making our way back to Singapore. Don't you just love to go to JB for cheap and good movies, food and clothes? =P
Pepper crab! YUM!
Momo so happy that she kena giap by crab.
See lah? Play play play!

10th October 2010, Sunday (101010)

Nice date eh? Went to ECP with Momo. There was some dog events there, so we went to take a look. So many cute doggies running around with their owners. These dogs got such good lives huh?
HDR of the evening sky at ECP. Will use it as my next wallpaper!

18th October 2010, Monday

The start of my week long leave. With NO PLANS at all. Then again, I have plans to do some spring cleaning to my room. Time to take out the trash. And also of cos, to update my blog. Takes lotsa time to blog you know? Especially with plenty of photo-editing.

Suddenly I saw Claire saying meet up for some drinks or dessert on FB, therefore since I have nothing planned for the afternoon, I went to meet her at Iluma. Had some yogurt at Berrylite. Yea it's her birthday so I thought it's nice to meet up for a while for some birthday dessert lol.
