Have You Boeing-Boeinged?

Who would have thought that I will go watch a play? Some more it's something I dunno anything about. But the girls suddenly wanted to watch this play and jioed everyone along, so I thought ok loh, just go try try. Haven't watch any plays before anyway. Quite a refreshing experience, but the only thing that dampens the experience was that we took the cheapest tix, thus having to be seated at three-storey high seats. I would definitely have paid more to get a better view. We had to look almost like 45 degrees downwards to view the actors and actresses from our seats.

Tue-Thurs & Sun - 8pm
Sat & Sun - 3pm
Standard - S$64, S$54, S$44, S$49 (Restricted View)

Fri & Sat - 8pm
Standard - S$69, S$59, S$49, S$54 (Restricted View)

Just checked out the ticket prices. Diaoooo I will definitely pay for the most expensive seat if I knew it's not much of a difference from the cheapest one hahhaa. But oh well, next time, if I'm watching a play at the Drama Theatre at the National Library ever again, I know which tickets to choose.

The play was adapted from the original French play which first premiered in 1960! Now it's been rewritten to a Singaporean context. I'm pretty sure the angmohs in the audience understood only 50% or less of the conversations and jokes. Luckily I could understand most of it cos they were speaking in Singlish, Cantonese, Japanese and Malay. Adrian Pang did a marvellous job, as expected, as he portrayed the architect, Bernard, who had three fiancées, Janet (SIA girl), Jelly (Cathay Airways) and Junko (JAL). The three women also did a fantastic job of bringing out the flavour of each of their nationalities. The other male actor, an angmoh, got to kiss the girls many times lol. He also did an excellent job. I think he had the most difficult part of the play as he had to interact with everyone in the play. But the most memorable character would have to be Rosa, if I spelt the name correctly. She's the maid in Adrian Pang's house. She did a splendid portrayal of a typical Malay women, with her Singaporean Malay slang.

Interesting experience. Probably will get me more interested in such plays in the future.
