What Else But F1?

Went to CGH for an interview today. Doesn't look good though. Looks like I will have to look forward to an interview at Standard Chartered soon. Hehehe...

28th September 2008, Sunday

The next milestone in Singapore's history books. The first ever night race of Formula 1 held in Singapore for the first time too. I was lucky I had the chance to witness the excitement live. Went down with Vivian and Melvin and Cindy. Melvin drove us all the way to Suntec where he parked his car. Then we walked around quite a lot along the circuit. It was so hot and humid that I was sweating as much, if not more than, as when I was doing a 2.4km run! We also saw some fans dressed in ape costumes walking around LOL! We went to one of the VIP areas and eventually went to the Sky Suite at the finishing point. By the time we climbed up the several storey high platform, it was just nice to witness Fernando Alonso do his victory drivethrough at the finishing point. Cool man. The atmosphere was just awesome.

Wonder what this Renault is doing down here.

In one of those aircon VIP rooms.

Cousin Vivian gives the victory sign.

Ferrari flag in the air too early.

View from the top of the spectator area in front of Singapore River.

Cindy's top matches the car behind her.

Cameraman caught on camera.

Ending moments to this amazing race.

Alonso, Rosberg and Hamilton on the podiums.

Doing Lotsa Boliao Things

For someone who isn't working, this isn't boliao! While waiting for good news everyday, I do all sorts of boliao things. Just took out the old block initiation videos from 2004 and 2005 and edited them, then posted them on YouTube. Those were pretty fun memories. It's a pity that this annual activity is no longer carried out.

2004 Part 1:

2004 Part 2:

2005:

Also, been chatting with lotsa old friends these days, as well as new "old friends", old "new friends". It's ok if you don't understand what I'm saying hahaha. Pretty fun learning about new things from everyone.

Song No. 18: No More Goodbye/Scream My Name
Artiste: Rimini Project

Comments: I dunno what genre you'll classify their music. Techno? I just love "No More Goodbye". It's got such an infectious tune. Interestingly I came across their not so well-known track "Scream My Name". I can't seem to find it anywhere. However I just love the left, right, left, right speaker effect, similar to what you can hear from Madonna's latest hit "Give It 2 Me". You can only fully feel the effect if you listen with earphones. Try it! Rimini Project does some great music, therefore I included both these two of my favourite RP songs in this post.

Loads of Updates

Been pretty lazy to update. Wahahah! Oh well... here goes.

14th September 2008, Sunday

Straight after RT, I went home to wash up and go zzz. Then woke up to meet up Yipeng, Ron and Zhangjing at Marina Square. They decided on Hotpot Culture for dinner. I remember going there with the GIP guys but was having ala carte. This time they were having buffer dinner. Actually the stuff are quite normal. There's even chocolate fondue and ice-cream for the dessert, so it wasn't that bad. However each person had to pay about $30. Quite ex man.

After dinner we hung around at the arcade cos there wasn't anything else we could do. It's been really several years since I've touched an arcade machine. Tried the House of the Dead 4 and found that it cheats people's money! Yipeng and I were "killed" quite quickly. We also tried another shooting game involving some safari and crazy creatures. Forgot the name of the game. So after hanging around the place, we left for home.

18th September 2008, Thursday

Had to meet up Siang Ann to return him some things. Also had to get a pink shirt for Huimin's ROM on Saturday. They wanted all the guys to wear pink. Therefore I went to meet up Siang Ann, then went to get a shirt from Robinson's at Raffles City. There wasn't much to choose from, therefore I got a Goldlion shirt. WTF it's the most expensive shirt I got so far. Luckily there's still discount. Then I hung around before I went to meet Charles at Paulaner. Had arranged to meet him up for a drink since he doesn't have to work the next day. His pal Marcus also joined us later cos they had initially wanted to meet up too. So the three of us chilled and chatted at Paulaner until they decided that it wasn't enough, so we ended up at ECP. We went to Mac for supper first before we went to one of the pubs there, called Beach Cabana. Then we had another jug of Tiger beer. Woah whole night of drinking session. Hung around until almost 3am before we went home.

19th September 2008, Friday

Was jioed by cousin Eric to go to one of his church cell-group mate's house at Simei for BBQ. It was at Melville Park in Simei. There I saw many of those I met last year in one of their activities. They still recognize me luckily haha. Then we played some silly games and then had lotsa snacks and goodies. They then continued going to Siglap to the cheesecake cafe, but I didn't join them. Therefore I went back home instead.

20th September 2008, Saturday

Sharon came to pick me up and together with Uncle, Shirley and Ahma, we then reached the Mandai Orchid Garden. We were very early and therefore we rehearsed a bit by trying out the bubble blowing. Peiyi and Beehive, Siying, Yaokun and Peyyong reached too. And together we hung around until all the guests arrived. We saw Albert and Huimin were given instructions by the wedding planner on how to carry out the ceremony, like how to walk down the stairs etc. Oh we saw an accident right outside the premises. A red car was smashed right in the front left corner by a taxi which was just turning out to the main road. We heard a loud crashing sound and fwah the red car was on its way to the repair shop. The license plate numbers didn't come out for the day's 4D. Sucks man!
Then all the guests arrived and therefore it's almost time too. It was around 2pm liao and the weather was freaking hot. We sweated like we just came out from the sauna. And I can confirm I don't even sweat that much when I was doing duty in reservist! Our shirts were soaking wet. Bobianz cos we were the "Bubble Party". All of us then positioned ourselves around the area and started blowing bubbles. Huimin wanted a bubble effect and therefore wanted us to blow bubbles throughout the ceremony. Kinda fun but it's really freaking hot. So there they were Albert and Huimin coming down the stairs with the two little kids in front of them. And they made their vows and thus confirmed themselves as husband and wife. Woo our first MKGian finally tied the knot.

So next up we all looked forward to the reception. At least we get to cool down in the shelter. After the lunch, we then went home. Oh we received cute little pots containing unbloomed flowers. That was meant as the gift for all guests. It's the Mandai Orchid Garden so what else would you expect? Kinda unique though.

Then it's the moment that all the girls have been waiting for. They gathered to catch the bouquet that Huimin will be throwing. Funny sia. Nobody wanted to catch the bouquet! Huimin threw the bouquet into the air and "THUD", it landed on the floor, with a few of the roses popping all over the place. Then the wedding planner got a bit (-_-)"', so she told the girls to catch it on the second try. "THUD!" Again nobody wanted to catch the bouquet. Finally on the 3rd throw, one of the girls grabbed the bouquet. LOL. I thought it should be what we see in the movies, whereby all the girls would throw their hands into the air all ready to catch the bouquet. So funny sia lol.

So that's all for the day and therefore we left for home after that funny episode.

Back home I showered and rested for just a while before I left home again to meet up Kah Wai and Edwin at City Hall. Edwin had jioed us to go to the Timbre Music Festival happening this week. Wing Kin joined us later. So we walked over to Timbre to check out the area and confirmed that there was some event. Then we walked to the nearby Kopitiam to have dinner. After dinner we checked out the Singapore Art Museum. There were some activities happening on that night. There was a flea market where lotsa boliao things were being sold. I even saw the ex-DJ of 98.7FM, Carrie Chong. She was selling some things at one of the stalls. Almost wanted to go up to her and ask her if she is that ex-DJ. But I can confirm it's really her. But at that moment I couldn't remember her name and therefore didn't wanna embarass myself or her by going up to her and talk to her. Wahha. Then we walked around the art exhibitions. Art Appreciation +20 pts! LOL. Then right outside in the grass patch outside the SAM, there was some guy performing. Didn't actually understand the whole meaning to it, but at least it's quite an interesting thing to watch.

Then Wing Kin joined us and we then headed for Timbre. WTH It's only 9+ and there was quite a long queue outside. The live band was scheduled to start at 10:15pm. So we joined the queue and waited. Luckily we got a table which was right in front of the stage area just before the band started to play. So we ordered our drinks and snacks and slacked the night away. Ngak and his friends were playing for the night. Not too bad a band. They sang many of the popular tunes, as well as one of Jay Chou's song for the first half of the night. We left before 12 cos we wanted to catch the last bus/train.

You Really Are My Ecstasy

Song No. 17: Ecstasy

Comments: Trance trance trance. Vocal trance. ATB. Ecstasy. What else can you ask for? All the elements of a true top-notch hypnotic trance track.

Everyday Is Sunday Again

Cos no work = Sunday. But it's not a very good idea at all. And just got notified by SIA that I've not been selected for a final interview. T_T And I was hoping I'll get in. Looks like have to look somewhere else. More job searching to go...

6th August 2008, Saturday
It's one of those random meeting with an old friend. Met Weiyang at City Hall and we proceeded to Marina Square where we decided to try out the new Burmese restaurant. Myanmar food? Looks interesting enough to lure us in. I've been eating Japanese food for every meet-up with friends. Change is good. The prices were quite ok and I even ordered mutton curry, a salad an a dessert, which only cost about $19. The food was quite spicy and the air-con was super cold. Shiokz man. After that we went to walk around and I got my iPhone some protection at last. Some silicone protective cover as well as screen protector which altogether cost $48. Super ex man. However to ensure good protection, such money must be spent. ~$~ We also saw some Suntec dance competition held at the Fountain of Wealth. Cool stuff. It was raining heavily and therefore we canceled our plan of going to Timbre. Damn!

So we left and I went to meet up Peyyong, Peiyi and Yaokun for supper at 85 market. I only had some 汤圆 and sugarcane juice cos I was still quite stuffed from the dinner earlier on. Then I went back home to prepare for the next day's RT. ZZZzzz...

7th August 2008, Sunday

RT commences. Holy cow. Have to wake up at 7am on a Sunday morning! I bought McDonald's Filet-O-Fish meal from the interchange and then took bus 10 to Bedok Camp. The first day was orientation and admin stuff. Not much training at all lol. I saw Calvin, my ex-neighbour, as well as Zhangjing. They were in Phase 2 of RT. I shall try to clear my IPPT in Phase 1. I wanna sleep on Sundays!

Back home, back to the land of 2D characters, we await the hermithood of the Oreoz. Finally we see them graduate from little assassins to flash-jumping hermits. They even gave themselves some cute little megas. So loving these Oreoz. We also took screenshots for remembrance.

Return To Innocence

Actually wanted to put Return to Slackness. But it doesn't sound nice. Return To Innocence just rocks. LOVE the song. Yeah it's my last day at PLAB doing my ICT. 8 more cycles to go! ZZZzz...

We went back to clean up the bunks and sent in our arms before moving to BBH for debrief and a buffet lunch. Then it's back home. It'll be another year before we see each other again, I guess. I then went home and started training my xbm once again. Finally got it reach 122 and hence able to put 1 SP into Snipe skill. Shiokz. 90k+ dmg. Wahahah! Only drawback is the 300s cooldown wtf!

Bad news today for investors. The STI has shed another 50+ pts to settle at 2,574.21. Siao liao man. This is MADNESS!!! No! This is SINGAPURA!!! ...

Chester and his gf just left my house. They came over at 11+ until now 1+am. They wanted to copy PSP games, and so at the same time copied movies, dramas etc. They showed me pictures of their trip to Taiwan, and Chester's Japan trip, while I showed them my Taiwan pictures too. Pretty fun to catch up with my old roommie. Those were the days man...

1 More Day To O.U.T!

Out-pro, that is. Short for out-processing. It's the processing of our completion of our ICT. 2.5 weeks passed in a flash. It's been really fun to do ICT, I would say. You get to meet all sorts of people, including your old army pals. No wonder nobody complained about going back for ICT. In fact everyone don't really feel like going back to work!

Today we did our last hours of guard duty. And that's it! Back to civilization for all of us. Tomorrow will just be a day of admin stuff and buffet lunch. Woohoo!

While me and Choon Wai were doing duty, he suddenly felt like going to blade at ECP, therefore we decided to just go on and do it. I wanted to ask a few people to join us, however it was too late notice to successfully get any friends to join us. Therefore we went home to prepare and CW came to pick me up and off we went to ECP. We had McDonald's breakfast and then proceeded to rollerblading! It's been sooooo many years since I last touched a pair of blades. As far as I remember, it should be back in year one or two when I was still studying in NTU. I borrowed blades from MrToe, aka Zihan. It's been at least 4 years man. I went to one of those shops renting blades to get a pair. $10 for 2 hours, quite a decent price. Once I put them on, I proceeded blading around. Hoho my skills are still there. Can move forward, but dunno how to brake properly. Ahahha! So we bladed all across ECP until we reached Bedok Jetty. And as we expected, no pretty babes around at all. What a bummer. And it started raining when we tried to make the return trip. Quite shiok to blade in the rain anyway ahahha. Then CW fetched me back home in his Mazda. Cool man. Should go for more blading sessions.

3rd September 2008, Wednesday

Woke up about 9am in the morning. Went back to the photo shop to get my NS Certificate of Service photostatted again. The URTO girl, Deng Shiqian, wasn't there, but an auntie was. I told her about my half-photostatted copy and she explained that the girl must have used the wrong settings. Therefore she made another two copies for me to replace the two which are half-photostatted.

Then I made my way to the SIA Training Centre situated somewhere in Changi area. Didn't take too long to reach the place. I changed my IC for a pass at the pass office and went in to find the room I was supposed to go. Anyway this is the first time I put on a tie for an interview. I was thinking that since SIA is such a renowned company, I should definitely put on a tie to wayang a bit. And so it seemed that all those guys I saw at the interview wore ties. Luckily I brought a tie along lol. Super mafan to put on a tie man. I chatted with a few of them and found that one was a girl who just graduated from NBS of NTU. My interview was scheduled at 10:40am, however everything seemed to be delayed and therefore I only entered the interview room at about 11+am. There was a lady who was from HR and an older gentleman from dunno which department. So I was asked the usual questions blah blah blah and then I was brought to a theatrette to complete a 2-hour essay and precis (summary). It's been dunno how many years since I last wrote a summary. And I ABHOR essays! Totally HATE essays. Don't see me writing so much since I started this blog, but this is all boliao things. But essays, have to be comprehensive, precise, blah blah blah. Oh well, I still put my heart into doing the questions. Even exceeded the time limit by 5 minutes or so. I chose the topic of "Discuss the problems of an aging population and the things that can be done to overcome the problems." or something like that. I had to choose one out of three questions. I chose this one because it's the most writable topic out of the three, and because there has been so much news generated because of all the baby bonus. Would be stupid not to write about that.

So after the test, it was already 2pm! Hungry like mad. I went to the Bedok Interchange hawker centre to settle my lunch before I rushed home. Then I changed and chionged back to camp and immediately went to take over duties. What a rush for the whole day.

After duty, it was 7pm already. A few of us went to the cookhouse to have nightsnack. Kway Teow Goreng! Shiokz. Then we went to the mess for the last night in this ICT. Almost everyone was there. All the officers were playing one of those FPS army games, including a few of the other guys. I ordered a jug of Tiger beer which poured nicely into 4 mugs. Then Galvin, Hong Kiat, Choon Wai and I toasted to a wonderful end of ICT and for a greater future ahead. LOL shiokz. Then Boyi and I played pool once again. I won 2 sets and later on Bernie, one of the guys whom I did duty with during the 4 days of RSAF Openhouse, and also the boss of one of the pubs at Boat Quay, challenged me to 2 games. I won the first set and in the last set, I almost lost to him. However he made a stupid blunder which made the cue ball jump into the air and off into the floor. This move made ALL of the guys surrounding us jump out of their seats. Everyone laughed and couldn't believe he could make such a blunder at the last ball. I also buay tahan the twist of fate and therefore ended the game. Then Pek, one of those C Shift guys of our batch challenged me and I die horribly. He was freaking good. And this went on and champions kept changing. We then hung around until the mess closed. That's was the last night we're gonna enjoy ICT lol.

Dunno What Title To Give

Time passed by so quickly. Duties on all four days doing car marshaling. Quite fun but tiring. Had to endure the hot sun and cold showers, as well as freaking mosquitoes. WTF in the midst of writing this post, got a shocking news. (Went to save someone) Holy crap...I'm past my bedtime today. Shall continue tomorrow. Save as draft first. Publish tomorrow. ZZZ...

The paragraph above was written on the 31st of August. However due to some unforeseen circumstances, I couldn't post a new entry on that day. My campmate, D, was threatening to commit suicide. Diao... I was informed of the news by another campmate, E, because he saw D's msn nick containing weird signs of committing suicide. Therefore we both tried to talk to him and indeed he confirmed he was gonna kill himself. Win liao loh. Let's hope nothing happened to him. Haven't had any news of him since that day.

Anyway today's post is rather late, because I was supposed to post an entry YESTERDAY! It's already the 2nd of September! OMG... But anyways better late than never. I woke up at 12 noon today. Woohoo! Haven't had such a good opportunity to sleep until so late since I started reservist two weeks ago. Everyday had to wake up at 6am or so. Today is a blessing because we could book out yesterday evening due to off-in-lieu cos we had to return to camp on a supposed off day for some stupid briefing. I jioed Guanming for lunch since he's also resting at home now. He had left his company for good and is resting at home before starting his new job next Monday. Steady loh found a new job so quickly. I'm still slacking after two months of searching. After lunch I went home to train up my xbm with sheep4 for the two hours of 2x exp at Jr. Newtie. Quite good experience I would say. After that I went to Tampines Mall to meet up Weijian for another of those financial planning session. It's the 101th time I did such things with my friends or relative. So many of them are into this business now. Indeed anymore that comes along I will tell them even if I meet them up, I won't buy anything from them cos I will almost certainly only support my cousin lol.

Just now, after dinner. I was preparing for my stuff for my interview at SIA tomorrow. Realized I needed some documents to be zapped. Therefore I went down to the photo shop at my neighbourhood as usual to do some photostatting. The last time I walked past that shop I saw the pictures of one of the girls who participated in the U R The One competition from Channel U. I thought the show-owner was just making use of her pictures to gain popularity. Little did I know that I actually saw the girl INSIDE the shop working. It was then I realized that her parents are the shop-owners. Cos I saw the mother there too, and somehow the girl resembled the elder lady. Too bad the girl was busy attending to some other customers, therefore the mother attended to me. The girl also looked very pretty in person. So after I was done, I left the shop. Should have asked her whether she is the one in the pictures all over the shop, I thought. Maybe could get her number? Hahaha. Then I went home and went to the URTO website to look for her details. Ahh.. Her name should be Deng Shiqian. Cos I found the link to her blog and there were pictures of her in the photo shop. The other girl, her twin sister, is Deng Shiying. Both are very pretty. Too bad....both so young. 19 years old only this year. Anyway I posted a message on Shiqian's blog, saying that I will say hi if I see her again next time. So I went back to prepare my stuff for tomorrow's interview. Then I saw the words in bold, telling me to bring the original and photocopy of your NS certificate of service. What the hell is that!? Walauz... Then I went to dig my files for this thing. Alas, I found it. WTH I never had to get this certificate out when I applied for a job at any other place. Hmm... Worse still, I had to go downstairs again to make copies of it! So I went down for the second time. Then I realized, oh... I can say hi to Shiqian this time. When I reached the shop, the mother was already packing up the shop ready to close for the day. This time Shiqian attended to me. My lips were glued together. After everything was done, I left without saying a word. Wahaha. Too paiseh to say anything. KNS...

Oh well... next time perhaps. Hahaha!

1st August 2008, Friday

Booked out after doing the morning shift of RSAF Openhouse Day 2. I went straight to Tampines Mall to get the iPhone, the phone I've been waiting for since last year. Went to queue up and had to wait at least one hour before I was served at the counter. Had to wait another 45 mins or so after taking a number. Walauz! Stand and wait in the morning to direct cars. Stand and wait in the afternoon to queue for iPhone. ZZZzzz.... Finally got my iPhone after around 2 hours of waiting and queuing. I also bought Red Cliff DVD from one of those DVD shops in TM. Spent almost $600 in a day. Woohoo. I'm jobless some more. Wahaha! Went home and watched the show together with Father and Cindy. Still as shiok as watching it the first time in the cinema. The intimate scenes of Lin Chi-ling and Tony Leung that were cut from the cinema version are now inside the DVD. Nothing much loh! Why they cut it!?? ZZZ...

2nd August 2008, Saturday

Did the afternoon shift. Peyyong, Siying and Yaokun went to the Openhouse. The programmes finished by 7pm, however those of us on duty had to wait until 8+ before we could be dismissed. The three of them waited quite a while for me to be dismissed. Then Yaokun drove me back home before they went to TM to have BBQ buffet at Seoul Garden. I went home to bathe before joining them at TM to watch Wall.E. It is a fantastic movie. It is the best animation movie since Finding Nemo, I feel. Although there isn't any dialogue throughout the show, but the storyline is somewhat so fascinating that no words are needed at all. 4.5 stars.

3rd August 2008, Sunday

Borrowed Father's car to drive to PLAB in the morning. Had to reach at 6:45am! Did the morning shift. By the fourth day, everyone was like so dark and tanned. ZZzz... Then we were dismissed at around 1+pm. Ronnie and the rest of the gang reached about 2:30pm. I then joined them to walk around the Openhouse. It was raining quite heavily for a while and therefore I got soaked a bit. I sacrificed my umbrella for Jim and Layyan. Hahaha. Then we went to the stage area to see Dawn Yeoh performing. She was singing a Japanese song and doing some act-cute dance moves. OMG. Why did they have to make her do such a thing? Still quite cute though. LOL. Then we walked around and I left PLAB while they continued waiting for the aerial display at 5pm. I had already watched the aerial display right at the spectator area, as well as from my carpark where I did my duties for the past four days, therefore it would be stupid to stay and watch again with Ronnie and gang. Damn tired also. Argh...

Tested my iPhone by taking some pix during the Openhouse. Not too bad for a 2-mp camera.

And finally... The new song recommendation segment. The new genre I'll be introducing is none other than dance songs. The dance genre is too wide, containing all sorts of different sub-genres. Trance is my favourite, therefore the first song will have to be a trance tune. Wooo!

Song No. 16: Mindcircus
Artiste: Way Out West (Gabriel and Dresden Remix)

Comments: Trancy euphoric tune. Love this remix. The original version contains too much vocals. This remix gives a deeper state of trance and heavier beats. My number one favourite trance tunes of all time.
