Almost At The End of Round 2

Realized that I haven't been updating for so long. Why? Busy watching the World Cup of course hahaha! Totally neglected other things. Can't recall what I did man...but I'll try...

5th June 2010, Saturday

It's FDS gathering at Harry's Bar@Esplanade. It's been a while since we had an FDS outing. Thanks to Boon Leong, this was quite a success. A total of 9 of us were present as you can see from the picture below. Jarvis' face was half-blocked haha. We then ended up at The Coffee Club@Millenia Walk for further chill-out. Let's look forward to the JB trip in July!
12th June 2010, Saturday

Met up with NZ to visit the PC Show at Suntec. Nothing much. Went to squeeze with the crowd only. Then went to watch The A-Team at Iluma. Plenty of action, but too much of plot. They tried to squeeze too many tactics within a scene, making it quite difficult to grasp the idea of their plans. Still, quite an entertaining show, but for men only.

Then we went to have dinner before watching the South Korean vs Greece match at 7:30pm at a pub just next to Raffles Hotel. Very quiet place with not many people. We had a comfortable place not too far from the TV. $19 for a jug of beer, which lasted us through the match. South Korea won 2-0 for that match, with Park Ji Sung scoring quite a nice goal.

13th June 2010, Sunday

Went down to the kopitiam to watch the 2:30am England vs USA match with GM and Mahesh. England sucked big time. Gerrard scored a beautiful goal within the first few minutes, only to let USA equalize later on, due to Robert Green's mistake. What a big disappointment.

18th June 2010, Friday

Organized a get-together session with the Blk 22 people. Wanted to have dinner and watch the clash between Germany and Serbia. It the end only managed to leave office around 7:30pm. When I reached Paulaner@Millenia Walk, Jason, Shenggui, Charles and Naizhu were there already. The pub was full of Germans. And it seems that they were out of luck that night as their national team was on the verge of losing their first game of this World Cup. Junie and Diana joined us later on. The service there sucks big time, as sucky as Germany's game. Miroslav Klose was red-carded earlier on in the first half, and Podolski actually missed a penalty kick! We waited quite a long time before our dishes were served, then took another 10 to 15 minutes before our CUTLERY were given to us. Do we look like barbarians? Then the best thing was, I ordered a similar dish of "World Cup" pork knuckles as what Jason and Seng had ordered. In the end they gave me a different one which costs double! We only realized until the bill was paid. DAMN! Tio tock! The bill also took quite a while before they returned it to us. Sucky!

After the match, Seng, J, D, NZ and I then went to the HK 茶餐厅 at Marina Square to sit, chat and relax.

19th June 2010, Saturday

Organized another outing. This time is for our GIP guys. Kim, Nana, Alan, Hock Seng, Wenyao, Naizhu were present. I also managed to get Kah Wai to join us for this Netherlands vs Japan match at 7:30pm. We grabbed a table at an Indian restaurant at Chijmes. There were plenty of Dutch fans all donning orange shirts and jerseys. Only a handful of the crowd were Japanese supporters. I wore my brand new blue Japanese World Cup home jersey. Although I'm not a Japanese soccer team fan, I feel that it was quite refreshing to be wearing something unique, compared to everyone else wearing an orange shirt. The game was quite evenly matched, until Wesley Sneijder managed to have a shot at goal, and the Japanese goalkeeper actually touched the ball, but instead couldn't deflect it enough to parry it away from goal. It would have been a draw. After that we went to Mac at Raffles City before going home.

20th June 2010, Sunday

Went to meet up the Citi gang at Beerfest Asia 2010. Quite an interesting event. Furthermore, can have beer while watching soccer. How cool is that? There were plenty of babes promoting the beers too. Went to support one of the girls I added on FB, Christina, who was promoting for Sol beer, a Mexican beer. In fact the beer was really quite good. The match for the night was Slovakia vs Paraguay, which wasn't quite an interesting match, for me. We weren't really watching the match, just walking around checking out the booths, babes and booze. The event also was kinda cool in the sense that they used poker chips as tokens for us to pay the booze with. I brought home one of the chips for souvenir haha.

Haven't seen any of these beers around.
Yes, we're beer promoters.
Leonard apparently enjoyed himself.

There were many different types of beers at the event, but I only managed to try a few, namely, Jaz, Sol, 333, some Taiwanese lychee-flavoured beer, Magners. Would be cool to try others but I wanted to stay awake for the Brazil vs Ivory Coast match later at 2:30am.
Beerfest not only teaches us to drink,
but also to gamble, put on tattoos, and have (safe) sex
. -_-'''

We left the event halfway through the Italy vs New Zealand match. WTH world champions were drawn at 1-1 by a newbie team. Sucky World Cup!

I stayed awake all the way until 2am until I decided to take a quick nap, cos was having a headache already. The next thing I know is I saw the clock on my wall reading "7am+". WTH! So I went back to sleep Zzzz...
