Crazy Weekend

Today went to Orchard Cineleisure with Wing Kin and Kah Wai. We were there to see Stephen Chow live in person. LOL Wing Kin saw the notice about Stephen Chow coming over to promote his new movie, CJ7, on this very day. Therefore he jio-ed us to come. We were there at 5pm, which was very early. Therefore we went to Cineleisure to walk around first and even played arcade inside.

We actually went to the red carpet area before 6 to wait around. There were only a few cats and dogs around at that time. (Translate to Chinese) The staff there started giving out whistles, a headband with a little thingy on top which looks like the alien in the movie, and a lightstick. Then it was waiting and waiting. 933 DJs Wuxu Mali, and Zhou Chongqing were the hosts. They asked questions and gave out freebies. There was dragon dance, and some weird looking aliens parading and dancing around. There were even some unknown stars parading down the red carpet to see the gala premiere of the movie. The only more known ones were Patricia Mok and Jonathan Leong. The rest were really dunno-whos.

It's only around 7+pm did the real star of the show came. By then the whole area outside Cineleisure was so packed and so atmospheric that I think Stephen Chow would surely be very proud of. I was still wondering if all the crowd would have ended up at Bugis Junction, because the other "Zhou", Jay Chou, was also promoting his new movie, Kungfu Dunk, on the same day, same time. Luckily it was still a magnificent sight seeing all the crowd around the area. Older ginger is still the hottest. (Translate to Chinese) I snapped pictures like crazy. Of course the main focus was Stephen Chow himself, as well as the very beautiful female lead actress, a new-comer to the movie scene, Kitty Zhang. The other guy was also an unknown actor, and he replaced the little boy star of the movie because the boy was sick.

Quite an interesting experience, having able to see someone whom I've seen millions of times in movies now appearing live just two metres in front of me. Definitely watching this movie this new year.

2nd February 2008, Saturday

Spent almost the last few nights hugging Buddha's legs. Even got up early on Saturday morning just to finish up my chapters to prepare for my Japanese test later in the afternoon. Slacked too long already. I never did any homework or revised any of my notes. Merely go to class and that's it. Therefore now have to pay the price of squeezing all the time I have to finish up my revision. ZZZzz.... The test paper was quite okay I felt, just a few tricky questions. Our teacher gave us a little origami box with some sweets inside, as partin gifts I think, since she's returning to Japan on the 12th of February. I'll probably go to the airport to send her off if I'm free.

Then I met up with MKG people at Plaza Singapura. Ah-ma, Peiyi, Sharon, Siying and I went to KFC for dinner first. Then we walked around until it's time for our slot at Mind Cafe @ Prinsep Street at 8:30pm. We got a table right at the end, nearest to the toilet. That's not really a bad thing. The most irritating thing was that one of the people behind our table was literally screaming at the top of her voice like kena **** or something. It was soooo irritating that we thought of switching tables, however, the only other vacant table was only the one right beside ours. So we endured the noise for the first hour or so before they actually left the place. The whole place became so peaceful then. ZZzzzz...

Anyway we played a game that Sharon suggested, called Cartegena. It was a strategy game requiring some thinking and strategizing. Siying won in the end. Then we played several other silly games, including a drawing game and a answer-the-questions game. The drawing game ended with a little twist. Someone came up with a "draw the person on your left" question. I drew Ahma, Ahma drew Sharon, Sharon drew Siying, Siying drew Peiyi and Peiyi drew me. Here are the results.

Ahma left after the two hours are up, while the rest of us stayed on until 12+. I think this must have been the longest I've stayed at a board games cafe - almost 4 hrs. I almost lost my voice having to shout to outvolume the rowdy girl throughout the first hour. ZZzz..
