Updates

Been quite tired and kinda lazy to update. So let's make it a short one.

15th January 2010, Friday

After work, Eileen, Aaron and I went to Novena Square 2 to play Guitar Hero! It's my first time playing sia hahahaha! There was this place at NS2 for people to play consoles like Xbox or Wii etc. Had to sign up for lifetime membership of $10. Then we get to play console games at $6/hr. We played Guitar Hero and it was like not very interesting songs at all. We hear the other group of people playing Rock Band with plenty of interesting songs. So we decided that we should play Rock Band the next time we go there. The layout of the consoles and seats were kinda stupid because there wasn't any sound separation between groups of people. Therefore we could hear other peoples' games as well. Super noisy sia. We could only manage to get a 9-10pm slot, after which they will close for the day. So it was just a one-hour of gameplay. We then went to pick up Charles and then went for dinner/supper at one of the Cha Chan Ting in Siglap to end the day.

16th January 2010, Saturday

It was to be a surprise birthday party for Eileen. All of us waited in one of the party rooms at the Kallang Mac. Initially Eileen thought we were going for high-tea at Conrad, but after some careful planning/scheming from Justina and Ronnie, we managed to surprise her with a surprise birthday party. We played some boliao games meant for kids and then had Happy Meals just like little kids. Lol I've never celebrated any birthdays at MacDonald's before, so it was kinda interesting. Luckily I volunteered to be the photographer and therefore escaped playing those silly games. I also took a short video of the whole celebrations, therefore decided to make a short clip and post it on YouTube.

After the celebration, Father came to pick me up and we went to the Irodori Japanese Restaurant at River View Hotel for Cindy's 21st birthday celebration with a spread of Japanese ala carte buffet. The variety was the standard ones you find in all Japanese restaurants. Food was quite nice and service was also good.

After a scrumptious meal of Japanese cuisine, I joined KMS, Zhangjing and Yipeng at Holland Village for a drinking session. It's the long awaited drinking session that ZJ was looking forward to since last year. It was also my first time going to Holland V at night for a drinking session lol. We ended up at Breko with their beer promotion of $12 for 2 bottles. 3 bottles each. ZJ had dinner there.
Looks like a lot of beer right? Dun be fooled by the chili and ketchup bottles hahah!
Then we went for a quick meal at the nearby kopitiam. ZJ had another meal of chicken chop there!
What makes ZJ more happy than having an awesome meal?
KMS wonders why ZJ can eat so much.
KMS suggested taking this pic. I wonder what they do on this street every night.

Next we went to another pub for another round of drinks. This time ZJ ordered his flaming lamborghini. Feeling that it's not enough, he ordered another! YP and KMS also ordered one each. I gave it a miss cos I needed to go for lessons the next morning hahaha.

If I posted a larger picture above, you can see ZJ's face full of sweat kekeke.
17th January 2010, Sunday

After my Japanese lessons, which now start from 2pm to 4:10pm, Jiahao and I roamed around Bugis before we proceeded to Hotel Rendezvous for Yee Ket's wedding dinner. Kai Hock was their photographer. We saw Jack Neo, who was somehow related to Yee Ket lol. Met up with the old colleagues over at DSO.

18th January 2010, Monday

Mummy received a call before 6am from 2nd Auntie from Malaysia, telling us that Grandma (Ma-ma) has passed away. Got Mummy all flustered and panicking. After that we all woke up and got ready to take urgent leave to go to Mentakab, Pahang, Malaysia to do all the funeral processions. Had to take a 4-day urgent leave. We drove all the way in and luckily got cousin Ah Wah who drove much of the distance back, we reached at 9pm or so. Over the next few days, it was plenty of funeral stuff. First time I had to do such things, following the Taoist priest do all kinds of rituals. I feel it's rather stupid but too bad it was for Ma-ma, so I just did as told. Father was the eldest son and I was the eldest grandson, therefore much of the responsibility was given to us to do most of the things. -_- Finally when everything was over, all of us were pretty exhausted. Oh well... hope Ma-ma is finally happily on her way to paradise.
