MKG Weekend

Cos both days were spent with MKG. But first let's backtrack to Friday...

4th September 2009, Friday

Went to catch The Final Destination in 3D! WOO! Been waiting for that movie. I watched a bit of part 1, many times of part 2, and I think once of part 3. Quite like the idea of the movie, although it's a bit sick. Seeing how Death conjures up "accidental coincidences" in very ingenious ways to murder someone is quite interesting. This was my first time watching a 3D live action movie in the cinemas. Previous ones were animations. It was heart-pounding action and excitement and plenty of gore for the 84 mins or so. Blood spewing and squirting everywhere like nobody's business. This time plenty of innocent people died due to the car crash. Hey wait a min, every episode features some automobile crashing huh? Have they run out of ideas? Hmm... There's a plane, cars, trains, what's next? Spaceship? LOL... I'm sure FD5 is in the making sooner or later.

Oh and I met up with Claire, Kah Wai, Jiahao and Kong Cheow for dinner at the 香港茶餐厅 at Orchard Cineleisure before the movie. We also went to catch bearbears at the arcade. Haven't tried catching one for so long and alas I din manage to catch any. KW also din manage to get any despite his $600+ worth of training lol. KNS the uncle keep psychoing us to keep dumping more coins to continue catching. LOL...

5th September 2009, Saturday

Went over to Huimin's house for her housewarming-cum-steamboat dinner gathering. I walked from my house to Jacenta's place to bring her over to Huimin's house to see see her place cos Jacenta said she never go inside The Premiere before. So we then walked over which was less than 5 mins' walk away. When we reached HM's house, only Siying arrived. -___- Everyone else were late. Well nothing new for MKGians lol. HM showed Jacenta around the house a bit then Jacenta went back home. Yaokun arrived and so we started preparing all the stuff for the steamboat. Alas everyone else arrived like Uncle, Sharon and Erwin, Peiyi. So we started our home-cooked MKG steamboat, which hasn't been done for like almost a decade?!? Shiokz. Argh getting hungry now. Peiyi also made konnyaku jelly for us. We also watched the wedding day video made by me, as well as the other videos made by HM's videographer. We spent almost two hours watching those videos lol.

I then went home, but was supposed to join Blk 22 gang for drinking session, but it was too late by the time we finished. Oh well next time then.

6th September 2009, Sunday

Had to wake up at 8:30am on a Sunday morning! AAHH!! When was the last time I woke up before 12noon on Sundays? T_T It was the 20th church anniversary for the church that Mummy always go to. There was a celebration-cum-lunch banquet near the Malay Village at Paya Lebar. Mummy had invited the usual 大姨, 三姨 & 姨丈, Eric, Longfei, and including Popo who is staying at our house at the moment, to this banquet. It feels just like a wedding banquet with a spread of 8 dishes or so. (din count) Then there was lots of prayers and stuff in between of course. Didn't really made any sense to us cos we don't attend that church. Therefore all of us merely enjoyed our meals.

After that we went back home and I rushed to change to my Run Singapore attire and then went to City Hall MRT to meet up our MKG participants. There were a total of 8 of us as seen from the pix below.
We are standing in ascending bib number 12624-12632 (except 28).
Wah chiobu MC. Is she Nadya? Looks like her. Maybe it's her. LOL.

And here we go!

The Lions' only two members to show up for today's match.

Should have been Walk Singapore instead hahah! Most of us were walking. Even the few of us guys who ran also ran at most 1km. Most of the time we were just strolling throughout the route, enjoying the scenery and the cool breeze. How often will you get a chance to walk down the F1 circuit with a bunch of friends? There were plenty of youngsters acting as marshallers and cheerleaders. They were so full of energy as they kept chanting cheers and doing all sorts of movements, just to keep the crowd moving on. There were two water points along the 5km route, full of 100 Plus and Ice Mountains. We finished Lap 1 within a timing of 1 hour and 15 mins or so. Disqualified from the remaining laps cos we were too slow. NAH!! There's only 1 lap LOL. Straight after we reached the finishing point, we were busy discussing where to go for dinner already.

Therefore we ended up at Katong's Aston's. Yumz! Aston's never fail to satisfy my tastebuds and stomach. Sharon then suggested this Ice Cream Chefs place at Ocean Park, which is about 15 mins' walk from Katong. We therefore talk an after dinner stroll down to that place for ice-cream. Hmm not many choices to choose from, and the place was small and crowded. In the end, we went out to eat at the bus-stop inside lol. That's all for a fun-filled Sunday. Wootz!
