Weddings and More!

Got 4 more weddings to the end of the year! Holy shyt! ~$_$~

16th October 2009, Friday

Met up with some Blk 22 people at Ajisen Ramen@Tampines Mall for dinner. Ben was also present. Initially planned to go to Timbre but we changed plan to go to Ken's place. After dinner we proceeded to his house. Then I "paid school fees" to learn how to play Texas Hold'em with them. Never mind, next time if I play I'll get everything back! We played from 11+ to 3am! Then we chose some movies to watch, cos I brought my whole movie collection over using my portable hdd. We then finished Hulk vs Wolverine and then I walked all the way back home. Wah super tiring -_-.

18th October 2009, Sunday

Went to Karen's wedding at Keppel Club. Hmm quite an ulu place next to the Keppel Bay area. Saw some familiar faces at the wedding, as usual. The groom, Sean, was actually from AHS too, no wonder I found him so familiar. Even Ruilong, my secondary school scout senior was there. He was an ex-Citi employee, together with Sean. Wow interesting. And the most interesting thing was I was seated together with Justina, Ros, Aaron, Charles and Nic ONLY. 6 of us only! We then ate until puke sia. First time kena 6-people table. Kinda weird cos Karen could have moved 2 of the guys from the other table to join us, since the other Citi table had 10 people. Hmm... Oh well we enjoyed our buffet wedding dinner anyway.

This Time Baby I'll Be.....Bulletproof

Can't get this song outta my head. Love the groove and beats. Haven't heard such an electropop song on radio for a long time. And all the clips on YouTube have embedding disabled, so I can't embed the video here. But here's the link to the clip in case anyone here wants to listen to it.

Bulletproof by La Roux

Don't you wish you could be bulletproof huh? Well sadly, nobody is, and in fact we get more fragile as the day goes by. Went to play basketball with Aaron, Charles and Leonard after work at Fengshan CC today. Walau I can't imagine myself playing for the whole day back in secondary school when I started getting outta breath after just 10 or 15 mins of playing today. Really getting old... Holy shit. Where's all my stamina?? It really shows how much difference a decade can make. 10 years ago still can play whole day at the TPJC basketball court. Hmm like that how can I finish a 10km marathon??? AAAHHH!!!

One Word....TIRED

Lack of sleep for the weekend lol. Now it's back to the future....

1st October 2009, Thursday

It was an impromptu decision. Since we ain't jogging, we went to Harry's Bar at Millenia Walk. It's 1-for-1 for Citibankers, so it's quite worth it. There was Leo, Nic, Charles, Aaron, Eileen and me. We played silly drinking games and had a pizza. And this was just the beginning...

2nd October 2009, Friday

It's been several months since we had a Blk 22 gathering. And since it was Zhongming's birthday just two days ago, I decided to organize this dinner-cum-celebrate-ZM-bday gathering. We had dinner at Manhattan Fish Market @ Iluma. My third time going there liao. ZM said he hadn't been to Iluma before, that's why I suggested he chose some restaurants there. And so loads of people turned up. Even Patrick, whom I've not met since dunno when, also came. Therefore we talked plenty of cok over dinner before we finally ended with an hour of DotA!!! Can you believe that we actually managed to play DotA? We've long wanted to organize a DotA session. It's been quite some time since all of us played DotA together. We went to the Colosseum LAN shop at the top floor of Iluma. Always wanted to try out that lanshop since the interior looks super cool. There're two large projection panels showing some gameplay videos on one side of the wall. Wished I could play a game using those screens lol. 8 of us then tried our hands on DotA. It's been almost a year since I touched DotA and I think it's been even longer for many of them. I spent quite some time deciding what items to buy for my Phantom Assassin hahaha. Many of the items were different, as well as the controls. But after a while we all got the hang of it and started pawning each other for good. It was a pretty interesting get-together session, to be able to see so many old faces, and of course play DotA with those guys once again. Reminds all of us of hall days...

And then the fun was not over yet. Those drunkards from Citi jioed another drinking session. This time I met them at Cafe Iguana at Clarke Quay. This time Jus and Ros replaced Nic. And so we played all the silly drinking games until late at night. What a way to finish off the work week huh?

3rd October 2009, Saturday

Early in the morning, I took bus 291 to the interchange, took 969 to Khatib, changed train to Kranji to meet Alan, Kim, Nana and Naizhu, took 160 to Woodlands Checkpoint, continued on bus 170 (so actually you can take either 160 or 170, doesn't matter), to reach the new Malaysian customs. It was my first time using the new Malaysian customs and I must say it is definitely much better than the old one. And the moment we stepped out of the customs, after less than five minutes of walking, we reached City Square.

First stop, cinema! We got tix for Tsunami, a Korean disaster movie. Quite a hilarious movie with a touching ending. Another one of those good date movies. And so we had about one hour to have our lunch. We decided to try out the Robin's Portuguese Chicken restaurant. Quite ok. But could be better lol. After that it was movie time! It is a 1 hour 40 min long show. Quite awesome graphics. And the female lead is none other than the sexy star of Sex Is Zero, Ha Ji-Won. I'll give the movie 3.75/5 for the better-than-average graphics, funny moments and touching ending. Next on my to-do list for the trip was to go for a haircut. After much thinking, I decided to try the Jean Yip outlet. The last time I had a haircut was at the other one which is more popular. But since the Jean Yip one was quite empty (I didn't want to wait), therefore I went for it. It cost RM$30 for my haircut. Not too bad I guess hahaha. I then went shopping for clothes. Need some new clothes to add to my wardrobe. Got a short pants and a shirt. Then I met up with the rest again, with Eng Tat joining us. We had Baskin Robbin's ice-cream, then hung around more until 6+. Then we went outside to grab cabs to Taman Sri Tebrau for our seafood dinner. KNS the taxi-drivers eat our money. Next time just use their meters, don't ask for a direct fee upfront. They quoted $7, but when we reached our destination, the meter didn't even reach $6. Oh well what the hell, we thought, just give it to them lah.

Then we settled for our seafood dinner at dunno-which stall. Eng Tat brought us to the one that he patronized before, so we just settled for that. So what did we order? 麦片虾,奶油虾,butter crayfish, sambal kangkong, 叫化鸡 (walau I'm salivating as I'm writing the names of the dishes), 豆腐, 奶白菜 and sugarcane juice. Overall cost us 6 people just over RM$200. Super worth it. Walau freaking hungry now sia. So we ended the night by going back to City Square for Old Town White Coffee. It was my first time trying this outlet's coffee too. And first time trying to take a picture using my iPhone to upload it immediately to Facebook via the app. They had free Wi-Fi at that cafe, so it was pretty awesome.

The way home seemed neverending, but luckily there wasn't as much of a crowd on our way back as compared to the morning journey. We took 170 back, then I took train from Kranji to Woodlands, took 969 all the way back to Tamp and then 291. Walau 6 buses and 2 train rides lol. What a TIRING day it was, but definitely very fruitful. Wooo!
4th October 2009, Sunday

AND as usual, I went for my lessons. Then Jiahao and I went over to Seah Street for chicken rice. ARGH the more I write the more I feel HUNGRY!! Then I went over to the library to read up some books before it closes at 9pm. Then went to hang around at the arcade at Bugis Junction to watch those hardcore Street Fighter 4 players fight it out with each other. Then I walked over to Mr. Bean's at Prinsep to grab tables for our Chelsea vs Liverpool match. Eileen, Charles, Leo and Aaron arrived and we then watched Chelsea diminish Liverpool's hopes of rising up in the league table. Next big match to watch out for is Man Utd vs Liverpool. Woohoo!
