Carlton vs Goodwood Park

It's the battle between two hotel's durian buffet! We went to try out the two buffets within two weeks. What's the verdict? Don't eat durian buffet! Hahahaha! Cos you'll get sick of it if you're just eating durians and durians and more durians for a meal. There may be different variety of food made using durians, but the taste is essentially the same. Therefore I conclude that it's best not to eat a durian buffet. I would say both hotels' durian cakes are one of the best items on the menu. The other items are pretty normal. That's about it. It's best if you try it out yourself.

It's Father's Day too! Which was why we decided to go for this buffet. I personally chose this place out of the other places because this is one of the most expensive one hahaha. Nolah there's a buy 3 and free the father promotion for this Father's Day. The international buffet is quite normal. I did not take pictures of them though. There were sashimi, sushi, live oysters, mussels, clams, prawns, steak, sausages, and all the other normal dishes like salad, veggies and stuff. And on top of that were desserts, fruits, ice-cream, chocolate fondue etc. So to eat all that, plus durian desserts, it really is quite a huge test to our stomachs. So my suggestion is to go for the international buffet, or durian dessert buffet, but not BOTH at the same time.

Now let's let the pictures do the talking.

Finally! We actually wanted to try this first, but decided not to and went for Carlton's instead. So there we were, going for the durian dessert buffet only. There's Taiwan Porridge A La Carte Buffet too, which is $39.80++ for pax. And I'm pretty sure it'll be a waste if we go for both. There wasn't as much durian desserts compared to Carlton's, items were a bit different too, as can be seen from the pictures. Personally I think Carlton's variety and presentation win GWP's just a little bit.
