20 Minutes to Children's Day!!!

And why should I be happy about it? Not as if I have holiday tomorrow... -_-''' But then again, it's a Fridayyyyyyyy!!! And looking forward to playing bored games and Wii at PlayNation tomorrow with the Citi people.

Just met up with Zhangjing, Derrick and Kenneth for dinner at Ding Tai Feng @ Tampines Mall. They've completed their RT at last! Come to think of it, it's only one month ago that I completed my RT Phase 1. Time really passes so quickly. And to even make it scarier, just now Shirlyn was mentioning that I told her last year something about Children's Day, then it's now Children's Day once again! It's like..."huh? really one year has passed since we talked about it?" I've said it before, that working life really passes much faster than schooling life. Haiz... Dun like the way time passes so quickly. The only way to look at it in a more positive way is to make sure everyday passes with wonderful and happy things happening in one's life. Which is what my blog here does in each and every post. BK always says he reads lotsa happening things happening in my life. He likes to say "if you wanna know what's happening in Singapore, just read Lam's blog" Hahahaha! I choose to live my life with all the interesting and fruitful things I do. So can everyone of you!

What better way to end off this post with an awesome website full of the most wonderful things on Earth: Cutie pies!~! I saw this link posted by Chew Soowei, the ex-98.7FM DJ, who's in my FB list. Damn nice lah! Must see!

Asian Poses

Oh oh oh! And I saw this cute MTV of 瑶瑶 with her song called "Honey". It's actually a cover of the Kpop girl band Kara's original song, also called "Honey". Act cute MTVs...but that's what all guys love ahahhaha!

And just as I finished this post and went to watch episode 10 of Sunao Ni Narenakute, the lead character's father told him this: 生きているかぎりはちゃんと生きおうっか。(You should live your life to the fullest.) How zhunz sia haha. Came back to add in this paragraph. Ok...time to continue watching Sunao.

Another Threesome

Well who else but HM, BK and me again. HS flew us kite once again. Wonder if he's really sick. If he is then hope he gets well soon then.

We met for dinner at Marché @ VivoCity. Had rosti as usual, as well as some pork steak and root beer. Eat until super full and couldn't even finish my rosti! But now reach home liao feeling a bit hungry already! What are the dinosaurs in my stomach doing sia?

We chatted over everything as usual. Nothing new lol. All we know is BK got promoted and salary increased again! Holy shit. I'm earning peanuts! When's my giant chunk of meat coming? Hmm...

It's F1 Again!

Just finished watching the Singapore F1 and Alonso wins on Singapore soil again! This time he is driving for Ferrari instead. Lewis Hamilton was out of the race due to an accident. This probably puts him out of the rest of the championship, in which Mark Webber is the leading man. Went to watch the F1 yesterday with Li Teng, thanks to free tix from his gf, Meiqi, who volunteered in this event. Cool man, didn't think that a girl like Meiqi was so onz about F1, and even so onz until wanna be a volunteer. Thanks to that, she got free tix for all 3 days and thus giving me and LT the Saturday tix.

22nd September 2010, Wednesday

It was COB at Capital Square. Me and a few other people had to go there for work for that one day. Quite an interesting experience, although there were plenty of cock-ups. Got to see the other people that we liaise with at Cap Sq, as well as their workplace. We had lunch at Beppu Ramen at China Square. It's a totally different atmosphere compared to what we have at CBP. Plenty of eye candy lol, as compared to our "Little India" zZZzz... The only drawback would be the rush hour jams and sardine trains.

After we were done for the day, we proceeded with our plan to meet up at Marine Parade for dinner and Koi, then to ECP for a mid-autumn festival celebration. Feels like being a little kid again, playing with lanterns, lightsticks and sparklers.

We bought loads of sparklers and lanterns for everyone. After lighting up all our lanterns, we then decided to draw our names using the sparklers. Luckily we brought some lightsticks and we practised drawing with them first. In the end, it was very beautiful ART we've created. All 9 of us will definitely have this beautiful memory etched into our minds forever.

25th September 2010, Saturday

After collecting my passport at the ICA building, I went to meet up with Leonard at VivoCity for lunch and then went to check out Cafe Del Mar at Sentosa. We took the Sentosa Express to the last station, Beach Station, and walked for just five minutes to reach Cafe Del Mar. We talked to the Assistant Manager, who is called Baillie (makes me wanna drink some Bailey's). He showed us around the place. I also took plenty of pix so that we can show them to the Year-End Party Committee.

After we're done with our site visit, I went to meet up with Li Teng for the F1 event at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. We met at Esplanade station and walked to Gate 3 of the circuit. Grabbed a Survival Kit each at $2 from the people standing around the entrance. Trigger-happy mode till we reached our seats at the Dark Green Block of the Bay Grandstand area. Some Porsche racing event was going on. I then went to check out the other areas around the circuit while LT stayed on to shoot at the Bay Grandstand area.

Got myself a survival kit. Will go deaf without those earplugs!

Lotsa merchandise for the F1 fan.

Porsche racing cars.

There were plenty of performances around the circuit and I walked on to check out the Daughtry concert held at the Padang. It was an awesome atmosphere. Daughtry belted out their hit songs one after another, ending with "Home". Then it was time for the practice round starting at 8pm. I went around to shoot at the viewing platforms on the Esplanade Bridge.

Capoeira performance.

Very energetic dance moves.

Can you do that?

Series of pix showing the guy doing a backflip. Awesome!

These dudes doing their melodious African sounds.

Daughtry live at the Padang!

Jam up the place Daughtry!

The fans love you!

Time for the final practise round.

If I only I had such lenses...

Panned shot.

Was pretty close to the cars at this part of the circuit.

Can you believe they actually pay $100+ to rent this thing for the night just to see/hear the live results?

After that me and LT had dinner at Ichiban Boshi @ Esplanade. Freaking tired, hungry and thirsty after all that walking and shooting. We charged up our energies before the qualifying round started. Shot a few more pix before we called it a day. Meiqi then met up with us and then they went off to do some shopping (at that hour!?) lol. It was 12 midnight already. I continued to check out the Adam Lambert concert at the Padang again. That chow ah gua really can sing and put up a magnificent and energetic performance for the fans. Nice way to end the night. Woo! F1 rocks!

Nothing like a good Japanese Yakiniku set to charge up our batteries.

Back at Bay Grandstand to witness the qualifying round.

Even MBS lights up with F1 designs.

The pass that I cannot keep >_<...

I'm almost as tall as them. Who needs stilts? Hahaa!

Podium finish for the three of us.

Victory!

To top it all up, Adam Lambert dishes out his hits.

He sure got the crowd moving!

Great concert to end the night. Woohoo!

TGIF

It's Friday once again! Time to rest! Haven't had a good rest for a long time. No time to update my blog even if I wanted to...so now's the chance. Cos it's gonna be a long and tiring but surely fun weekend ahead.

17th September 2010, Friday

The long awaited Digital Nights was finally here! Well I think only me and Jocelyn were looking forward to it, cos we were the ones who discovered this event some time earlier. I decided to organize this outing to capture some pix at this event. Gathered the photo enthusiasts in the office to go for this outing. Eventually there were Aaron, Joce, Joy, Kiwi, Serene, Kian Hong, Leo, Peiying who turned up for this first ever Digital Nights held at the Singapore Art Museum. Was expecting more works on display but there were quite a few only. Nothing compared to Night Festival. But still, some of the works on display were quite interesting.

Digital Nights album on FB.

Lazy to edit and upload so many pix that I already uploaded onto FB haha, so here are only a few of them:
We decided to go for drinks after shooting so many pix. So we ended up walking to Timbre @ Old School. The band only managed to play a few songs only before the staff shooed us out of Timbre at around 1am+. We barely sat there for an hour! So we decided to walk all the way back to Selegie and settled down at Mr. Bean. There we had an interesting gossip session. So fun to listen to all the gossips lol. Best thing is, we left at 4am, and I had to wake up at 8:30am later! Bester thing is Joce and I even went to have breakfast because we were so freaking hungry! Eat already went home and sleep at 6:30am! Bestest thing is only 2 hours of sleep! How to wake up later!?

18th September 2010, Saturday

Well, it's just 2 hours after the previous line actually lol. I went to this Alliance Francaise at Somerset. Was asked by Nic to watch this premiere of "Mobile Suit Gundam 00 The Movie: Awakening of the Trailblazer". It's shown at 10am, the earliest session we can watch the movie, meaning we're the first people in Singapore and the whole world to watch the movie! Was late for a few minutes, but luckily didn't miss quite a lot. Wasn't very impressed with the movie. I would give just 2.5 stars for it's not-up-to-standard graphics, lousy plot etc. Li Teng and some of Nic's friends bought some limited edition GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] for $34 only!
The management decided to make it only 5 sets per screening and removed them totally from the display areas when we came out of the theatre. Poor Nic was so disappointed because he didn't buy it before the movie started. He got a 3D poster though. We then went for lunch before I proceeded to Gah Mee's house at The Pinnacle@Duxton for her baby Zachary's baby shower.
Kian Hong taking his 101st picture of Zachary!
Zachary got a stylo sideburn!

There were plenty of people in Gah Mee's house, including several babies. Sharon and Erwin also brought Giselle along. Peiying, Weiqin, Shirlyn, Kian Hong were there too. Even Melville was there. I took a few pictures and then left the place, to go to Jeremy's place which is just at the next block.

Tham's unit is on the 9th floor, whereas Gah Mee's is on the 34th. From the 9th floor, can't really see much scenery. Tham just moved in not long ago, so it's pretty neat and tidy. His wife, Fangxuan, was in her wedding gown. It was the first time I met her. Very beautiful in person indeed, especially in a wedding gown lol. Tham had changed out of his suit and was resting until I knocked on their door to disturb them of their rest lol. Yijie was also around, who was Tham's official photographer. He was using a 5D Mark II I think.

We chatted around before they decided to go for their shoots around the house and on the rooftop. I tagged along to shoot a few pix together with Yijie.
After the shoot ended at about 5:30pm, I went to look for Li Teng at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Was damn shag by then cos of only two hours of sleep, but was determined to go for the Kite Festival anyway. When I reached, there were a gazillions of kites in the sky already. Looks like the whole of Singapore's kite-lovers were there to fly their kites at this annual festival. Was wondering how they manage to not entangle their kites together. Well actually I did witness some kites getting all entangled up in a mess lol. I ain't a big fan of kites. Don't even remember flying a kite, or even if I did, when I flew a kite. Shall try it one of these days!

We went around individually to shoot. But for the most of the time I was sitting at the sides resting my tired mind and body. Didn't really shoot a lot but I think it was enough for the day. As the sun set, kites of various designs with LEDs could be seen. There were a few which I thought were pretty small, were actually quite huge when I went up close to see the actual size. Some had LEDs laid out in concentric circles and multi-coloured LEDs light up the whole kite in different patterns. It was quite enjoyable to witness such beautiful sights.

Kite Festival 2010 album on FB.

The event ended at 8pm and so we walked to MBS to check out for any nice eateries. In the end we found nothing edible there and so ended up taking a bus to Funan for Pastamania lol. Then it's home sweet home to concuss till the next day...

19th September 2010, Sunday

Didn't have much rest... And had to go for Tham's wedding lunch at Grand Park City Hall. There were plenty of AHS people as well as FDS guys who turned up at the wedding lunch. Wedding lunch/dinners always felt like mini gatherings. See all the familiar faces. Come to think of it I also know Tham for so long already. Since Sec 1 in scouts, and also were in the same JC, army, uni. 16 years omg! Lucky Tham to marry such a beautiful girl. Lucky Fangxuan too cos Tham is a really nice chap. So when's my turn? Ahahaha!

Took the chance to take a few pix with my old pals. Wonder when we'll meet again. Maybe the next wedding lol.
Taking a pic with Jeremy and FangxuanAHS DudesFDS Eagles

After the lunch, I had some time to spare before meeting Liyang they all for dinner, so I decided to go to the Kite Festival again. Shaun also wanted to take a walk, so together we walked all the way to The Promontory. Had a bit of catch up session with him. He's got a girlfriend recently! Nice one dude!

There were fewer people on Sunday, the 2nd and last day of the Kite Festival. And I bumped into many people, like Jocelyn and Kiwi, who BO JIO me! As well as Chan Chee Wei and Tat Yeong. Weren't many nice kites around, and it was damn hot and humid. We sat around chatting till 5:30pm before we went to take the trains.
One of the performers playing on a harp! My favourite musical instrument.

I met up with Li Teng, Liyang and Selina at City Square Mall to try out the Kichi Kichi Rotary steamboat restaurant. Cost about $28 per person including one drink. I always think steamboats were 大同小异, the only difference between each restaurant is the way food is served, the variety of food, and the soup base. For Kichi Kichi, the conveyor belt is quite nice but certainly I wouldn't pay extra to go there again just for the convenience of no need to grab food ourselves.
Kichi Kichi
Couldn't really move after eating so much at the wedding lunch, and THEN at Kichi Kichi. It's buffet you know? I'm a glutton!

Next up, I went to Clarke Quay to meet Aaron and gf at Brewerkz. He finally found a place at Clarke Quay where we can sit and watch the match between Manchester United and Liverpool. When I reached it was already 15 minutes into the game. Luckily there weren't any goals yet. A highly up-tempo game with plenty of action. Liverpool was clearly the POO of the night. They managed to get two goals courtesy of Steven Gerrard's free kick and penalty kick. Man U on the other hand had Berbatov doing a hat-trick to secure 3 precious points for the Red Devils. Awesome performance from him.

I realized that there was some "special" at Brewerkz if you check-in using Foursquare. If you check-in with a tip, you can get either free fries or onion rings with any purchase! How awesome is that!? So I actually did the thing and we got ourselves quite a big basket of fries absolutely free! Cool stuff! That got me to check-in at almost everywhere I went after that hahaha.
Jocelyn and Kiwi also came to meet up after their meal, so we walked along Clarke Quay for a while before going home.
Rooster rules!
On our way home, Aaron told me to shoot this guy sleeping in such a funny posture. The lady beside him knew that I was shooting him and tried to siam. She looks a bit buay song cos she knows I'll surely capture her in my picture as well lol.
Phew finally finished my long-winded post! Still have the mid-autumn festival post to be updated! Will update once I get my hands on the pix that Aaron took for us hehehe.
