Ah Liang and Charlene's Wedding Lunch At ONE°15 Marina Club

Ok I hardly post anything about wedding lunches and dinners I've been to recently (cos all more or less the same lol). Nolah in fact it's because I've never been to this place at ONE Degree 15 Marina Club at Sentosa Cove for wedding lunch/dinner before so I'm definitely gonna snap lotsa pix at this beautiful place.

Ah Liang and Charlene must have spent lotsa effort and $ too to prepare their wedding lunch at such a place. Even the invitation card was specially prepared with something that looks like a boarding ticket to a plane. In fact it's one of the biggest wedding invitation card I've ever received. So kiasu for what? LOL... The view at the ballroom area was indeed quite a magnificent sight to behold. Plenty of yachts and boats berthed right in front of us, with rows of atas houses in the background. You might think you are in Miami or Hawaii or something.

Sasuke Singapore Stage 1

And so Chian San managed to squeeze into the 100 selected for the actual finals for Singapore's first ever Ninja Warrior, aka Sasuke! So happy for him. At least it gave me a chance to witness the real thing. I went down to support him and so did his ex-colleague, Alvin, who was there during the qualifiers as well. I'm pretty sure we'll be on TV if the producers decided to feature our few seconds captured by the camera as his supporters. We waited for an eternity at Palawan Beach, Sentosa, where the obstacle course was built. It was only after 1.5 hours before the first participant got onto stage. Supposed to start at 1pm but ended up at 2:30pm then they started zzz.

Joanne Peh was the host of these TV series. She had to endure the scorching sun to do the filming. It was really fricking hot. Hardly any clouds at all.

It's the REAL Ninja Warrior obstacle course right in Singapore's Sentosa island!

Obstacle 1: Sextuple Step

Obstacle 2: Jump Hang

Obstacle 3: Halfpipe Attack

Obstacle 4: Warped Wall, Obstacle 5: Tarzan Rope + Rope Ladder

Joanne Peh at the finishing point doing a short shoot in the glaring hot sun lol.

The whole obstacle course looks awesome!

Joanne Peh live in person.

CS doing his ninja pose!

Chian San sprained his ankle at the second obstacle when he was testing on the trampoline. And that spells the end of his attempt at Ninja Warrior glory. He managed to jump again on the trampoline and even touched the ropes but couldn't hold on to it. Even if he did manage to hang on, his ankle wouldn't allow him to finish the course. Haizzz...

Nevertheless it was a very good attempt. Most people fail at the trampoline cos they did not know how to utilize it properly. Let's go again for the next season! WOOHOO!

Catch CS and Me (maybe) on Channel 5 Sasuke Singapore!

Sentosa Outing With Momo Dear!

We planned for this outing cos we bought a Groupon special at $38 with savings of $34 (according to Groupon).

$38 per pax for the following:
- 2-Way Cable Car Ride ($24)
- Maritime Museum (excludes Typhoon Theatre) ($5)
- 2 rounds of Segway Fun Ride ($12)
- Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom ($16) and bird-feeding ($3)
- Meal comprising pizza, fries and drink from Sarpino's Pizza at Butterfly Park ($6)

Therefore we planned for this trip to Sentosa after getting the Groupon voucher. Seems really worth it.

Who would have thought it would rain on the very day we wanted to go Sentosa? We reached HarbourFront Tower to the sight of extreme heavy rain. WTF?!? Even walking along to the cable-car entrance was a chore as the wind was so strong it made us kinda wet. No choice but to hang around until the rain got lighter. In the end we took the cable-car at 1pm zzz... Almost half the day gone.

Watta do but to continue our plan for the day. It was our first times taking Singapore's cable-car. New experience for Momorange. Dear was so scared that she started crying -_-... The cable-car brought us to such heights that it would give us an amazing view, but due to the rain, the window panes of the cable-car were covered with rain zzz...

We started off with the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. It was still drizzling so most of the butterflies were hiding instead. Went to feed the birds. Diao...the moment the guy passed a small cup of liquid on my hand, all the birds starting flying onto my hand and shoulders.

After the boring visits, we had lunch at Sarpino's which was included in the Groupon. A pizza, fries and a drink. Dear was feeling artistic and used fries to form her name in Japanese lol.

Next up we visited the Maritime Experiential Museum. No aquarium yet! It's a relatively new attraction opened in Sentosa. It's all about the maritime stuff. Kinda stupid and waste of time.

We paid $3 each to visit the Typhoon Theatre. Thought it would be something amazing. Craps... It's just 360 degrees surround screens and wind and mist blowing at you while they simulate us on the ship hit by a  typhoon. Damn cold! Not recommended even if it's free.

Next we hung around RWS. And strolled along the beach while enjoying the scenery and the wind.

Then settle dinner at the zichar stall at the food centre by the beach. Next we had to rush to Songs of the Sea cos we've never seen it before. By the time we reached, the guys at the entrance told us we only had 2 mins to get tickets. Holy shit! Then just at that moment, some tourist who walked past told us we could have one of their extra ticket. Then the guys at the entrance also realized that we would have no time to go and get tickets, therefore allowed us to enter the place using that one free ticket. Woot so lucky! Saved two $10 tickets lol.

Quite an interesting display of water jets and pyrotechnics, with song and dance in between. Somehow I prefer the older but free musical fountain performance which is long gone.

To end the day, we took the cable-car back to mainland and over to Mount Faber and then back to HarbourFront Centre, all in the night. Somehow Dear wasn't so afraid anymore. Perhaps at night can't really see anything lol.

Nafimuya's Happiest Birthday At Age 30

27th May 2011, Friday (NaFiMuYa turns 30 holy sh*t!)

First of all, thanks to Momo dear for taking the day off just to accompany me. =) And it was an awesome day at Universal Studios Singapore. It was our first time ever visiting this theme park.

We took the Sentosa Express from VivoCity all the way to the stop at Universal Studios. Reached at 12pm! Wasted 3 hours of play, cos USS opens at 9am.

Our first visit to a theme park! Universal Studios Singapore!
Woody Woodpecker!

Dear with a nice jester's hat.

Orange hits the big 3!

1st stop: Attraction 17: Hollywood - Lights, Camera, Action! @ Hollywood
Time visited: 12:15pm

It's our very first stop. Didn't take too long to queue and get into the theatre. Didn't expect something so stunning. The whole theatre was filled with props and equipment that you wouldn't expect. Real rain, fire, wind and windows getting ripped off the walls, columns and pillars falling all over the place, explosions, a ship actually smashed through the walls. We were standing at the front platform, and that's as close as you can get to the 'live' scene. The 'tornado' swept across the city and we could feel the magic that's being conjured up. Way cool. The best thing is we were right in front of the place where a column fell right in front of me. I was taken aback and even stepped back and stepped on someone's toes lol. Cool stuff! Although it happened for mere minutes.

2nd stop: Attraction 15: Sci-Fi City - Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN (RED Track) @ Sci-Fi City
Time visited: 1pm

And our very next attraction would be the most exhilarating ride for the day. This ride took quite a long time to queue. Throughout the queue, we had butterflies in our stomachs. LOL. It's my second time taking such a huge roller-coaster ride. Dear was very excited but I was getting very nervous lol. However during the ride, I was shouting and screaming at the top of my lungs, dear was so stunned that she couldn't make a sound at all.

After we're done with the ride, dear immediately dragged me to queue for the blue track. Holy shit. That one was worse! It had corkscrews, 360 turns etc. Way more damaging than the red one. After the red ride, my back muscles were aching, possibly due to being over-stretched. Should have done some stretching before taking the ride. And dear was worried about me, so we decided to abort the mission. And luckily we did that, else our locker would have incurred charges if we had taken the blue ride.

Therefore we went ahead to take other less exciting rides for me to rest my muscles first. I met Yok Hian, Mr. Yokipedia right outside our next ride.

3rd stop: Attraction 12: Ancient Egypt - Revenge of the Mummy @ Ancient Egypt
Time visited: 2pm

Kissing Anubis.
The two guardians to the tomb. How majestic!

This was a rather short wait too. We had to walk through winding pathways along the Egyptian building. Crates, pillars all set up like a maze, but it's just a one-way passage. We reached the ride area with two sides for people to take a ride from, but ultimately they will end up on the same track. I told dear to close her eyes if she's scared, and she really did! It was a long ride along the indoor roller-coaster. Total darkness except for whatever they wanted us to see will appear along the ride. Imhotep is placed along the ride and he says things which make your hairs stand. (nah..not really) At one point, the ride was even reversed and turned around about 270 degrees to the left, where we go for a downhill ride, in pitch black conditions. Totally awesome ride.

The castle which Shrek resides in.

4th stop: Restaurant A: Discovery Food Court @ The Lost World
Time visited: 2-2:30pm
Dear is hungry! Look at her mouth!
So is this tyrannosaurus rex!

Oh no! Dear is gonna get eaten!

Nah...this laksa set is. $10.50 omg!

Famished Momorange eats up everything in their path, I mean bowl and plate.
Oh no! Dear gonna get eaten again!
Nah... dear gonna eat these dinosaur eggs.

Momo is going to a Far Far Away place.

5th stop: Attraction 8: Shrek 4-D Adventure @ Far Far Away
Time visited: 3-3:15pm

It's 4-D adventure time! It's dear's first time watching a 4-D movie. I watched one before at the 4D Magix showing "Honey I Shrunk The Kids". This time it's Shrek. Very entertaining movie with plenty of wind and water. Surely one of children's favourites.

Ain't we cool? =P

Momo loves this picture. Orange too.

We're like in the middle of the story of Shrek itself.

6th stop: Attraction 7: King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round @ Madagascar
Time visited: 3:30-3:45pm

Dear wanted to try this carousel from the moment before we went in. So since I'm not very into it, I decided to stay outside and take pictures for her instead. See how happy she is? Feels like she's turned into her three-year-old self.

Oh, dear sits on a giraffe. Yes, it's another version of me.

Took a picture with this cute hippo too.

And the penguins gave us a "I Like To Do It" dance.
The newly-opened Madagascar section is more for kids, but very entertaining for adults too.

7th stop: Attraction 6: Madagascar: A Crate Adventure @ Madagascar
Time visited: 3:50-4pm

The Madagascar area was more for kids. But the very colourful and lively place full of dancing and smiling animals surely made even adults feel like they're kids once again. We took the crate ride along a river, which brought us into a Madagascar area full of the characters from the animation. Nothing very fanciful, just nice for kids, who may not have a chance to take a ride on the roller-coasters.

And off we go on a crate ride along a river in Madagascar!

Both dear and I love this picture I took of the front of the crate-boat we're sitting in.

8th stop: Attraction 5: WaterWorld @ The Lost World
Time visited: 4:30-5pm

The Water World is quite an old movie. Can't really remember its plot. But this show should be one of the must-sees in this theme park. Very dedicated actors and actresses who put up this awesome live show in front of us. Full of pyrotechnics, water, guns, speedboats, water, action, smoke and lotsa water. Those who were seated in the front few rows are told that they will get very wet. We didn't want to get wet so we sat on the highest rows. Definitely a must-see. Salute the actors and actresses.

Let's swim into Water World!

Awesome finale - a seaplane flew into the scene.

9th stop: Attraction 2: Canopy Flyer @ The Lost World
Time visited: 5:30-5:32pm

Yes it only lasted at most 2 mins! For a 40 minutes wait. OMG. But it's quite fun, with our legs dangling in mid-air from over a few storeys high. Too bad the ride is toooo short.

10th stop: Attraction 12: Ancient Egypt - Revenge of the Mummy @ Ancient Egypt
Time visited: 5:45pm

Haha we went to take the ride again. This is because dear told me she closed her eyes throughout the ride, so I dragged her into the ride again.

Loved the movies, as well as the ride.

Poor me have to do it like the slaves.

Battlestar Galactica: Cylon. We'll conquer you the next time!

Can't imagine being one of them. Eeeks!

And dear wanna visit the Gingerbread Man.

We finished off our last tour around USS by 6pm because it was the soft opening for USS. They invited many celebrities for this event and therefore the park was closed to public by 6pm instead of the usual 7 or 9pm. As we approached the entrance, the staff were laying out red carpet in the middle of the road for the celebrities to walk on later in the evening.

Momo is the world's greatest girlfriend hehe.
Why would you pose with such goodies? EAT THEM!

Hungry! And we decided to try out this Italian restaurant, Palio, at one of the hotels.

Momo drinking wine... nah, it's just water lol.

The free bread was nice. So is the soup. Pasta still ok. Pizza normal.
Another happy day of Momorange.

To end off the wonderful day, we went to National Museum of Singapore to watch "Fantasia" in this live outdoor movie event. The movie was already showing halfway when we reached, but still it's a nice experience.
