1/2 ECPCN Cycling

March 21st 2009, 8:45a.m.: (In a deep Rorschach-like voice) It was a dark, gloomy morning. Wait a min.... Back to reality. Rorschach rox lol!

Anyway It was a bright and clear day. VERY GOOD for cycling. I met up with Yaokun, Siying and Peiyi at the Food Centre at ECP. DIAO all the stalls were closed except for a few sellings drinks only. Too bad, no breakfast for me. The rest of them bought breakfast along to eat, luckily. So we proceeded to get their bikes, which was at a rate of $8 for 3 hours. Those normal cheapo mountain bikes without suspension. So then we started out on our trip towards Changi Village. Pretty easy cycling because it was long and straight road towards Coastal Park Connector. This was actually the first time I used the "newly-constructed" ECPCN to cycle from ECP to Changi. The last time I did so was with my cycling gang about 10 years ago. Back then there wasn't any concrete paths for us to cycle smoothly along the Changi Airport runway area. Instead, you either cycle on the road, or I think there was a pavement, or you cycle inside a dirt-track, which would be muddy if it rained previously. Now there is the convenience of going from Changi to ECP or vice versa easily thru the ECPCN. Cool man.

We reached Changi Village after a two-hour cycling trip from ECP. By then the super famous and popular nasi lemak stall was already packed with a long queue of hungry customers. Walau! Since we were so early, we decided to try out the so-called best nasi lemak stall at Changi Village. Took about 40 mins of queueing before we finally got to have our plate of nasi lemak, which was consumed within a fraction of the time spent on queueing. Nothing much really. The chicken wing is much better than the other stalls around, but other than that, nothing fantastic. But still it was quite a nice meal. We then went to relax at the Changi Beach area after a hearty meal.

We decided not to take the actual route but backtrack our way back to ECP because it seems that we did not have enough time to reach ECP before their 6-hour bike renting period is up. So we made our way back the same route and even took a 30 mins break sitting at one of the shelters at the far end of ECP. And then it's all the way back to the bike stall. And now my arms are still aching, butt still hurting, from all that bike-jerking and stuff. But it's nice to do something so strenuous once in a while eh?

Hehe finally carried out my ECPCN Cycling plan. But then, it wasn't the actual whole ECPCN route. NEXT TIME shall conquer the real ECPCN!

Interesting Videos to Share

By now everyone should know how Manchester United were thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool on Old Trafford. The match was simply amazing. With many wonderful goals, plenty of drama before, during and after the match. Too bad I only managed to catch the last 30 mins of the game. But here's a video of the highlights of the game, plus another one fanzone video which is so freaking funny.

The commentator is freaking funny too with his super long "GOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!"

The Fanzone commentators are hilarious!

Crazy Weather

One day it's hot like oven, next day cold as ice. That's what's happening these few days. Everyone please take care. Very easy to fall sick. ZZzz...

7th March 2009, Saturday

Met up with Alan to go to the career fair at Suntec. Naizhu fly us aeroplane two times in a day! Supposed to meet in the morning but he said he couldn't join us. Therefore I planned some activities for us at night instead. So we decided to meet in the evening, but NZ said he join us for dinner instead. Diao!!! So ended up only Alan and me walked around the fair. Actually I already know that there isn't much to see at the fair, but at least just walking around there isn't really a big deal. We then met up with NZ at Marina Square for dinner. Then we met up with the rest of the people at GV to watch The Watchmen. Kaiwei, Hock Seng, Kim, Nana, Eng Tat were the few who joined us for movies.

Hmm heard lots of negative reviews from many people. What the heck. Just watch loh. Quite draggy at the beginning. But as the momentum builds up it's quite a graphics feast. And plenty of action involving sex, lots of violence and blood. Not your usual superhero movie. Not recommended for those weak at heart. Really. Plenty of gory scenes. Still... something worth watching. 2 hours 42 mins. Worth it or not is up to the individual.

Next I went to join Charles, Junie and Wilson at St. James. Diaooozz... Charles told me that Junie jio clubbing, and Wilson already onz. And THOSE were the only people present. Hahahah! WTH. We went to Boiler Room. Jason was there with his colleagues too and he joined us for a while. The Ah-Gua performed as usual and then every now and then got singers and dancers on the stage performing all the latest hits.
It was retro night too with plenty of retro hits like Mambo at Zouk. Kinda fun. Plenty of babes around too. o_O Too bad many of the block people didn't turn up. The more people the more fun it is. 想当年 we used to have up to 20 people turning up at Mambo at Zouk. So fun were those days. Now all dunno 死去那里了 zzz...

Cold March into March

Been a cold and wet day. And it's March already. It's been rather wet these days. How to organize cycling like that? Hahaha!

28th February 2009, Saturday

Went to 2nd International Bicycle & Motorcycle Exhibition (BikeAsia) at Singapore Expo with Naizhu and Kim. Was wondering what kinda interesting things we can see there. There wasn't much people in the exhibition hall, which is great. Usually exhibitions like IT shows have crowds thronging to them. At BikeAsia, we could actually drive a car around the aisles easily because of the wide open space available. There were plenty of AWESOME bikes and bicycles on display. Although I'm not a biker, but the sight of such cool machines sure makes any guy wanna own one. Plenty of bicycles, especially racers, were on display. However the highlights of the event were the bike trials and bicycle trials. We only managed to catch a sight of a few bicycle trials done by some bicycle clubs from other countries as well as from Singapore. Oh I actually didn't expect to see show girls at the event because I thought it was only just bikes and bicycles, not like a motor show or what. But there were actually a few of them around. How nice to take pictures of beautiful girls and beautiful bikes all at once! Naizhu and I also tried a strange-looking bicycle, or do you call it quintcycle? It has a rear wheel, with 4 very small wheels replacing the normal front wheel of a bicycle. Kinda weird maneuvering the whatever-you-call-it. There was this small area for us to try out on that bike. There were also two electric bikes, run solely on electricity, for people to try driving around. Cool stuff. Ok enough talk. Just let the pictures do the talking.
This model got the baby face look. Always seen at many exhibitions around.
This is an up and coming supermodel. Oops. Wrong it's Kimmie. Haha but still. Not bad eh?
NZ tries his hands on the weird-looking bike.
Bike with two-front wheels.
This model is the most professional one I feel.
She never fails to pose for anyone who wants to take pictures of her.
This picture is to show that we actually went to BikeAsia.
Not me grabbing pictures from others or what. Hahahha!!

After the exhibition, I went down to Bugis Junction. There was guild outing at 6:45pm but I reached at 6pm. So I decided to go to the LAN shop to watch people playing games. Somehow I caught a "Pmuj has pawned XXX's head for XXX gold." on someone's monitor. I was wondering whether it could just be that Jump I always play with at our usual DotA sessions. So I scanned around and sure enough, I see him sitting there playing. So I went over to him and said hi and then proceeded to watch him play the game until it was time for me to meet up the others. LOL so zhun sia. He must be taking a break before going back to his shop.

So then I met up with Ron, kirei, sheep4, the Oreoz, kopi and Herbie and the youngest sister (forgot her nick) at BluJaz restaurant pub in the area. Nice place to chill out. We got seats at the second floor luckily, though they got some cock-up for LY's reservations made earlier. We then had dinner in that very dark corner of ours, then played "Multiples of 7" suggested by Herbie. Oh we also treated birthday boy OreoCheezZ to Waterfall. His faced turned red as lobster as an aftermath. sheep4 also turned red after one glass of Tiger beer. Looks like it's not a good idea to drink with them hehehe. Ron got forced by me to drink. Finally see Ron drinking hehehe. Then we talk cock around and zuobo around until 9+ before we left. Nice place to hang out sia. Great gathering too. More to come I hope. =)
And just as I was preparing to take pictures of the Waterfall being lit by the staff, my batteries went dead. So the pictures taken onwards were taken by Herbie. Have to get from her before I can post them here. Stay tuned!
